The convertible car seat I want is on sale, but the model is from 2014. I have reached out to the car seat maker, but they make take up to 48 hours to respond.
Do you know if an unused, but two year old carseat will impact the years my kid can safely use the car seat?

It will affect how long you can use it (expiry date will be affected), but other than that, safety-wise, it's perfectly fine.

You will probably get one less year of use because you are buying an older model but as long as you don't use it past the expiration date it should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. I found the expiration info on a Car Seat review blog. It has a six year expiration date and stamped do not use by date. I'll contact the retailer and see just how long I'll actually get to use it.
