She will be 16.5 months at Halloween this year. Close to 2.5 next year. I'm in love with the Carter's costumes that are on sale (50% off). Would she fit into the 24 month costume next year?
Because I refuse to spend $19 (+tax) on a costume she will only wear once...

@MrsTiz: right? My husband is leaning towards the mouse (probably because that's what I was at this age) but I like the cat, too! Plus, orange and black leggings and shirts are easy to find at Halloween time if she grows out of these...

My LO is a big girl- off the charts in height and 85th percentile in weight. She's a little over two and mainly wears 2T, but she does fit into some 24 months. Those are adorable!

Wagon Jr. has worn the same costume for the past 2 years! I got a 2T snoopy costume that fit well when he was 1 year and 10 months, then again when he was 2 years and 10 months! But he is short for his age.
I had to cut open the neck of the shirt and the neck of the mask to fit his gigantic dome through though. Both years. Haha!
It definitely looks like with those costumes you can get creative! If just the animal part fits you could totally sub in fitting tights, long sleeve Ts, etc.

@mediagirl: I bought a 24 month costume for M last year when she was 19 months old. It fit well.
I tried it on her this year and it still fits! She'll be 31 months old this Halloween.
I think being diaper free makes a huge difference.

I ordered the 18 mo mouse for Audra (she will be 11 mo) and while it is a little big, it works and is worth it for her to hopefully wear next year.

My LO is tiny, and we were able to squeeze him into his 3 month Carter's costume at 28 months. It was hilarious, and he enjoyed the extra attention. Last year I bought a 12 month Carter's lion costume, which still fits him today. They tend to run a bit big in my opinion.

@scg00387: thanks! Carter's has it on sale for $15 and change this week, after I bought it for $19 last weekend. I'll be going in for a price adjustment tomorrow.
I was thinking if it gets too tight, I can snip off the hood and put a headband with ears on her head and snip the bottom and add fabric. Heck, she can wear it till she's 8 with these ideas!
