What time would you do for a 2nd birthday party in October:
Saturday, 4:30-6
Sunday, 10:30-12
Food will be served for both kids and adults at either time.

I chose Sunday, then realized some people go to church on Sundays. Do the people you are inviting go to church Sunday mornings? If so, then Saturday. I think I'd just prefer a morning kid's party.

I vote for Sunday's earlier time because then you could have bagels!

@renee: ehhh I don't know actually? Lol! I don't think any of our friends are religious? That would not have even occurred to me to think about so thanks for bringing it up!

@swedishfish: and mimosas!
(alcohol at a kids' party is totally ok, right??)

I'd prefer Sat pm over a Sun am. But, I just came from a bday party sat am and I that too--even though I know it's not a choice.

i voted saturday evening because then i have the day to prepare instead of running around like a crazy person in the morning!

You may run into nap time issues, but may only be an issue for a couple (or no) kids! O still naps at 1030 such a pain

Does Sat am work? Let's you and others have the party early part of the weekend, and relax the rest? Misses the potential church conflict and leaves clean up for you during naptime instead of after bedtime when you'll be more burnt?
I guess that's what I would do, might not be sensible to anyone else
PS how are you thinking about this already! Omg they're going to be TWO!

@birdofafeather: so it would actually be held at a kids' gym type place, so they do everything! I show up 15 minutes before with decorations and they do it all!
@sorrycharlie: oh really?? Leo naps from 12-2ish and I think that's the earliest nap among his friends...I figure by Oct I can definitely push him to 12:30 or so. How long does she nap for??@matador84: yeah saturday morning would be my first choice but they don't have it as an option!

@Beebug: would love to do sat am but it's not an option at this place. And the kids' gym place does all clean up and set up (major score!). And I KNOW--how are they so big?!

@hilsy85: Oh not hosting/clean up, that changes things! Haha!
I think we might do a party for her for two. I can't waiiiit for a few more years and we are SO renting a jumping castle for one birthday!!

@hilsy85: she naps til 1230 on a bad day but lays in there awhile. She needs time So she doesn't leave the crib til 1-130! I've tried pushing her nap and it backfires horribly. Haha!! I think I'm doing her party 2-4.

@hilsy85: oh, then in that case, definitely sunday morning! we just did a gym thing and she LOVED it! i would skip church to go.
@sorrycharlie: she takes two naps or just a really early nap?
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@birdofafeather: just one early! And she crashes by 630 ish at night too lol. She is making up for her sh*tty sleep from months 1-12

@sorrycharlie: oh wow! So I guess that's a long "quiet time" if nothing else!

I had W's 2nd birthday at 4:30. That way it guaranteed her being awake from her nap and feeling well-rested.
We served everyone dinner (but it went until 7 or so).

Alcohol isn't just acceptable, it's borderline required at kids parties lol!

430-6 would be my preference. T naps at 1 but we like to get home by 12 to wind down and eat lunch before nap.
