This happened not too far away from us.
A caregiver (sounds like he's young) dropped a 5 month old & didn't tell anyone. When the parents picked up the baby he was incoherent. He's in the hospital now & sounds like he is getting better & finally breathing on his own. Accidents happen to everyone, but in a situation like this time is so critical. I can't believe he didn't tell anyone that he dropped this sweet baby! Makes me feel so sick. Praying for that sweet baby & family.

OMG my heart sank when I read the title of this thread. Makes me sick that they never told anyone! So glad that the baby is doing better now!

OMG, this is horrible!!!! I get that the caregiver probably felt embarrassed or worried about their job, but I don't understand how they could put all of that over the life of a sweet baby!!!! I'm so glad to hear that the baby is doing better but still... this makes me feel ill.

This happened in my town. the same day, another local day care was investigated for taping a toddler to a chair. DH and I are so grateful we found a safe daycare for LO. I nearly quit my job when these stories came out.

@Bookish: Oh my gosh!!!! We've got crazy stuff happening over in our neck of the woods & it makes me want to just stay locked up in my house all day.

This story freaks me out! But then again, that nanny in NYC murdered two sweet kids last year so everything is scary in the world:(

This is ridiculous, how do you nto tell anyone when you know the baby is acting funny, how irresponsible. This person was obviously not mature enough to be in the infant room or any room for that matter. Risking a child's life out of fear of what getting in trouble??

So scary! I get a chill when I read about these incidents. Makes me grateful that I am able to be DD's caregiver (although I know there are very good and safe daycares out there!)

@emg86: These stories don't surprise me as much as they should. It is so sad that caregivers can't put the child first. I swear every week kbtx has a story about a kid being treated terribly.

That's so sad. But I don't understand how no one else noticed that he was incoherent? Wouldn't another care giver have noticed? Still, so scary.

Sad. I don't understand how nobody else at the daycare noticed that the baby was incoherent. Is there only one person there at a time? Accidents happen....I let my own kid fall off her changing table....but to not alert anyone to it is horrific.
