My LO has always had feeding issues, but finally at 8.5 months old she is starting to get into solids. The bad news is, when she eats solids, she refuses to drink the "right" amount of milk.
I've heard that they shouldn't decrease milk at this age (right?) but she is. Today she's only had 17 oz so far and skipped an entire bottle (we tried literally 5-6 times, but she just wouldn't take it). So she has gone 7 hours with no milk, but ate 3 oz of solids in that time, plus a few puffs.
We tried the milk first and she wouldn't take it for several hours, so then we resorted to solids, which she (right now) is always happy about.
If she drinks her nighttime bottle normally, she'll be at 22 oz for the day. She used to drink 26-28 oz. This is pumped breast milk.
Is this about right? Or do you all have children who maintain the same amount of milk intake while still increasing solids?
