@Kate6214: Really? Good to know! Did you have the dip immediately following O or a week or so later? I'm more so worried that I never O as early as Day 10... we shall see!
@mfa_lady: sorry for your loss, definitely prayers for a quick recovery!

I've been reading the blog for quite a while, but we *just* started TTC this cycle, so it's a very exciting though surreal (as someone so aptly put it!) experience to be posting here. This is my very first post!
I'm from all over the US (military child) but live in Northern California now, with my husband and our two adorable rescue kitties.
Estimated O Date: 10/29
POAS/AF date: 11/8
Cycle: #1 !!!
Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/485f5b
Trying new this cycle: Actually TTC for the first time in my life! But have been using OPKs in the past few months to see if/when I'm ovulating, as I have some concerns due to lots of pre-AF spotting and some breakthrough bleeding that my doctors haven't been too concerned about (they tell me to come back for more testing IF we have trouble conceiving after 6 months). This month I added the ClearBlue fertility monitor which has been cool to see how its "high" days totally corresponded to EWCM.
What are you looking forward to this month (not TTC related): My friend's wedding and our mutual friends coming to town for that from near and far, riding my horse on the weekends and seeing my dad at Thanksgiving.

@stratosphere: Welcome! Military child here too. California was my favorite place we lived! "Actually" trying is totally surreal! It's our first month too, and it's like you have so many emotions.

What are you looking forward to this month (not TTC related): Thanksgiving! My brother will be able to attend.. first time in a LOOOOOONG time. He is going through a nasty divorce and custody battle so I'm glad to spend happy time with him.

AF showed up this morning, which means I either didn't O in October or missed it (thinking the latter since I didn't start OPK's until CD15 - based on the fact that I usually O around CD18). Oh well, back on the horse for November, and at least I have a POAS date now!
Estimated O Date: November 16
POAS/AF date: November 30 (if I can hold out til then!)
Cycle: 3rd
Chart: nope
Trying new this cycle: SMEP, starting OPK's much earlier than last time!
I love that it's not even officially November and we already have a BFP! Congrats @Mrs. Jump Rope: !

@buffalove: Sorry about af, lots of positive vibes for November though!!!
I woke up this morning and had a big temperature spike. I am wondering if something could have messed with it or if I really ovulated on day 15 (last month was 17). I am not sure if I should be thrilled since it should give me a longer lp or peeved since our timing wasn't great if that is my O date. I also never got a positive on the digital opk, but I really thought I had one on the cheapie yesterday in the early afternoon. Last month I had quite a bit of cramping around ovulation too and this time nothing. Any thoughts? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/47c932

@Cole: It might be a fluke. Do you have EWCM? I'd definitely test on OPK today.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Cole: I was going to ask about ewcm as well.
It seems like a lot of bees are doing SMEP this month! It's going to feel like such a BD storm to me!

I'm really hoping November is a good month!!! When I was pregnant with LO I got my BFP in November (it was early November, but still counts)...

@Littlebit: I know it... I was gone for a day and I have pages and pages to catch up on! It's hard to respond to everything when the conversation has already ended... haha

I join the getting to know you game (albeit a little late...)
No pets - DH is very opposed I used to have a gray tabby kitty that I adored. I tell DH that as soon as he's gone I'm going to be a crazy old cat lady for sure.
I'm from San Diego, but now live in Kansas. I spend a lot of time hating on Kansas City, but it's really not *that* bad. It's just a LOT different than San Diego!

@swurlygurl: I tell my DH that I'm getting a puppy as soon as he's gone, too! Mine is super cranky about animals. He doesn't understand why people want them inside the house.
honeydew / 7091 posts
@loopedd: It sucks! DH never had pets growing up, so his only opinion of them is that they shed and they're filthy. It doesn't help that the first time he came to visit me my cat didn't like him, so she threw up on his 3 piles of stuff... (suitcase, coat and carry-on). Hahahaha. Also, the house we bought was infested with animal hoarders before (seriously a zoo in that house), and 3 years later we're still cleaning their filth. I try to tell him we can keep a clean house with pets, but he's not buying it

@swurlygurl: I TOTALLY feel your pain. Mine is same story -- no pets growing up. Do you have LOs yet? I really keep hoping that our future kids will be able to convince him better than I will that we need a furbaby!!
honeydew / 7091 posts
@loopedd: Yes, I have a 9 m.o. daughter. I'm counting on her to have Daddy wrapped around her finger! I'll have a better shot at a dog than a cat, but I'll take it!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@loopedd: @swurlygurl: I toldmyDH on our first date that I had two non-negotionables for this to go anywhere. 1) I have two Yorkies that are like children. You will have to be okay with dressing them, pushing them in the stroller when we go shopping (yep I'm that person), and truly believe you are their step-dad.
2) Be okay with moving to DC if this gets serious because I'm not staying in Atlanta!
He just looked at me, but asked for a second date and did both of those things!! Hopefully your DHs come around someday!
kiwi / 536 posts
@dc yoga bee: That is adorable!! I always tease DH that he totally lied to me on our first date. I asked, "Are you a dog person?" and he hedged, "I'm not sure...." Eventually I was like, "You hate dogs! You knew that then!" And he says, "Yeah, but you were so cute!!"
However, I have seen DH mellow about a lot of things in the last 5 years, so I do believe anything is possible....
grapefruit / 4649 posts
@littlek: @dc yoga bee: I was just starting to get ewcm last night which was another reason I was shocked to see that spike this morning. I took a cheapie opk with fmu and it was still dark so this afternoon I will try again with a digital. How strange, I guess I will proceed as though it is a fluke and see what happens!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@loopedd: I may or may not get jealous that they sleep on top of him now, and not me! I raised those traitors!!!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@dc yoga bee: I had two dogs when I met my husband. A pug, Bogey and pomeranian, Templeton. For some reason, husband hated the pug. Personally, I think it's because they were too much alike. However, husband adores the pom. When hubby was away in NJ for 3 months I convined him I needed a puppy. So we got the chihuahua, Pedro. Pedro and Tempy bonded and started being mean to Bogey... So, long story short, Bogey is living with my parets in GA.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@dc yoga bee: Pedro cuddles with me. Tempy is indifferent. I personally think she is plotting to take over the world.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@littlek: hahaha I love it! When he's out of,town they remember I'm their mommy. As soon as he gets back I return to just the temporary caretaker! He says when I'm gone they cry at the door and won't leave the door waiting for me. They can't make up their minds!

How about a Halloween joke!?!
Why didn't the skeleton cross the road?
He didn't have the guts!
Happy Halloween!

OK so I think I O'd yesterday, very clear temp spike today, and this is around the time I normally ovulate. Do you think FF will change my crosshairs after three days of sustained temps?
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/princessandthebee
@littlek: Can you add me to November 13th for POAS? That's 14 DPO from where I believe I O'd. Hoping I can make it that long! And I really hope you get your second Nov BFP!
@dc yoga bee: Yay for SMEP! But we didn't quite make it to three in a row... and I didn't use OPK's so I guess I did my own version of SMEP, haha. I think the key is the EOD starting early enough and the concentration of BD around O. Hoping it works for all of us!
