@littlek: DH and i tried to do smep this month and did well up until the 3rd day in a row - he was too tired and stressed to bd. i was soooo bummed out and have been feeling like our chances are over this month. bc without that 3rd day, we really didnt do anything different than all our other unsuccessful months.

i did have nearly 3 days of positive OPKs though, and did manage to bd on the first two of those so FX but also argh.

@littlebit: I'm sending you hugs, and so sorry for what you've been through.

As for me, I'm out for this month. On to December for me! I'm ready to get this new cycle started and this month we don't have any business travel so we can time our BD without any outside interference!

That said, I'm a little discouraged about this past cycle, as AF showed up this morning after a 14-day LP that included pretty heavy spotting every.single.day. but one, starting on the day of O.

    My Ovulation Chart

That is some wacky stuff and I'm tired of my doctors not seeming at all curious as to WHY I spot/bleed so much during my LP, or where the blood is coming from (cervix? uterine lining?). It feels like, to me, since they think they've ruled out the things that could kill me that might also cause this irregular spotting/bleeding, they then no longer care that it's occurring at all. I have been to THREE different GYNs in the past 3 years (since this LP spotting started) and have not gotten any answers. One doc did test my progesterone and said I had normal levels. She prescribed oral progesterone for one cycle earlier this year just to see what happened and whether it might eliminate the spotting, and that cycle had the worst bleeding/spotting LP I've had other than this cycle. So frustrating!

In any case, I'm remaining positive--as I've had some cycles in the past year with only spotting the 2 or 3 days before AF, so I just need for one of those good cycles to come along now that we've started TTC. And I LOVE following along on this thread and getting hope and positivity from all the supportive ladies on here, and I LOVE seeing the BFPs. November isn't even half-way over, so I hope to see them keep on coming!!

@stratosphere: sorry to hear you're joining the rollovers! just wanted to tell you I had very similar experiences around spotting (I had up to 9 days per LP prior to LO, a little less than you). they (several doctors) checked a few things and then told me "oh well", even my RE wasn't impressed by it. what I found interesting is that Clomid eventually helped me get pregnant successfully, but I still had 6 days of spotting on a Clomid cycle BFN.
my current RE is putting me on progesterone just in case so partially it does seem to be the doctor's style. he's more of a "let's do everything that might possibly make a small difference" type.
I hope you get a BFP soon and don't have to go through it anymore!!

@Lugrey508: your BDing was great! I wouldn't worry about missing CD17 at all!

@stratosphere: Thank you! And I'm sorry to hear about your spotting! That is so frustrating! Potentially stupid question, but have you tried holistic methods? Like the B6 or raspberry leaves? I've heard of those working for others, but seeing as how you've been going through this awhile, you've probably already tried it.

@Littlebit: Thanks for the reassurance, I think im driving myself crazy and bringing DH down with me! Now hes asking what my temps are in the am and asking all kinds of questions! I think I liked it better when he was clueless.

@bhbee: That's encouraging to hear that you also had issues with pre-AF spotting and yet you ended up having a LO. Did you have spotting on your BFP cycle with LO? Or was that one a no-spotting cycle? Hoping you get a BFP soon!

@Littlebit: Not a stupid question! I haven't tried B6 specifically yet on a sustained basis. My prenatals have pretty high B6 (and I do take those daily) and I did take an additional supplemental B vitamin off and on for about the past three months, but perhaps I wasn't consistent enough (or the dose wasn't high enough). I hadn't heard about B6 for spotting/potential LP defect though! I was taking extra Bs (again, not consistently) because one TTC book I read said something about B vitamins being good for TTC...I forget the specifics, which is dangerous, I know!

I have tried red raspberry leaf tincture and Vitex tincture (aka chasteberry aka agnus castus in the UK), and possibly saw some improvement in those cycles. This cycle, since we were actually TTC (for the first time!) I got scared and stopped both tinctures at O since I wasn't sure if they're safe during pregnancy and didn't want to risk it (especially considering THIS scary article about how there is no regulation of the supplements we consume in the US http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/11/05/science/herbal-supplements-are-often-not-what-they-seem.html?from=homepage). That said, I hadn't considered that stopping the tinctures at O could have caused/contributed to the extra bleeding this cycle...that's an idea for sure. I'm going to start acupuncture again (I did a bunch in Sept before we started TTC) this new cycle and will ask my acupuncturist about that and whether she thinks I should continue with the red raspberry leaf and Vitex during the TWW next month.

@stratosphere: before LO, that was how I decided when to test. if I didn't had significant spotting by 12dpo, I tested. (post-LO, I sometimes have no spotting and am generally more regular.) in my successful BFP, I had no spotting so my hormones figured it out I guess. in my three chemicals, spotting wasn't as extreme but I had little bits while I was still getting HPT+.

of course spotting is pretty normal in early pregnancy for most people, but for me it seems to go hand in hand with trouble.

I've over-analyzed this WAY too much in all my TTC. I almost always have a temp drop the day I start spotting so it has to be a progesterone drop. but, it seems that's a symptom of failed/no implantation versus a cause, at least for me, since it didn't occur with my success. I am no doctor but that's just my observation. it gives me hope that the spotting really is just how my body works and not a big issue.

@buttermilk: I wouldn't be too concerned about missing the very last day of the SMEP plan. But I totally understand your feelings. Any day I don't BD I feel like I've lost out a bit. Any time I pee (especially in the morning!) and its not on a stick, I feel like I am losing some good information. Ugh....

@stratosphere: That would drive me mad! Actually, both the spotting and the doctors who don't help get to the bottom of it. When I was looking for a specialist for a totally unrelated thing I started calling and asking to speak to the doctor's nurse. Interviewing a slew of doctors wasn't an option but chatting with their nurses over the phone was almost as good. I wonder if you could just start calling around and say here is the problem, have you dealt with it and would this doctor be a good person to see for it? I hope next month is it for both of us!

@buttermilk: Oh my gosh... I totally POAS today and I haven't even ovulated yet. I was thinking maybe I could be pregnant from last cycle even though I had a full period! Ugh. What a waste of a stick. I haven't broken down the cost of each HPT stick yet, but I'm sure it would give me anxiety. I just always think, "what info could this pee give to me?" If only the pee could talk...

@dc yoga bee: @buttermilk: @Mrs. Confetti: we need laughs where we can get them, right?? I had a rough Monday and Tuesday. Just down for no reason! I can't feel this way just six months into TTC. So I insist on laughing - even if only at myself - as often as I can.

So I "researched" pomegranate juice and apple cider vinegar. Any one drinking either? And I bought bromelain pills. I just now need to figure out what to do with them! Oy vey....

@littlek: i hear you! we have a photo album full of newborn pix of DS, and he looks through it like 100x a day, pointing at himself and saying "baby!". and i had to get some newborn clothes out for a friend to borrow this week, i nearly cried looking at how tiny they were.

@buffalove: I still have B's preemie onesie that he came home from the hospital in laying around. It's so friggin tiny. And when I put him in it he was swimming in it, it was so large on him. I can't believe my little 4.5 lbs baby is 1.5 years old.

AF is in the building! I'm pretty happy about it, because now we can just put that nightmare behind us and start fresh. I'm just hoping now that I ovulate on time. I'm going to start using OPK's earlier than I normally do just to make sure I catch it. I've heard of ovulating occurring later after a MC so I'm not too terribly optimistic but I'm attempting to stay positive. At the moment at least my body is doing what it's supposed to - it's all I can ask for

@MrsMcD: oh man what are those drinks supposed to do? I drink apple cider vinegar when I'm starting to feel a cold coming on but that's all I know!

@Littlebit: I'm so happy you're staying positive! Best thing about AF is that really all that waiting is over. It's a fresh new cycle! Get a little break from this nonsense while she is here, and then when she leaves you can basically start trying again!

Ugh...I think I am out! Not really feeling any symptoms that are similar to what I felt for my last BFPs. Took a test last night at 11DPO and it was stark white. Got both my past BFPs the night of 12DPO.

Pretty bummed...I was SO hopeful for this cycle.

@littlek: I puffy you too! I think your BD timing is great. Isn't the sperm supposed to be waiting for the egg? Your timing should set that up perfectly.

@Littlebit: I'm happy you are at a new fresh start.

    @princessandthebee: hi, friend!

@buttermilk: no clue, really. I was just googling juices and such and came across those, too, for fertility purposes.
