I have been vicariously living through all of you ladies these last few weeks, listening to your stories, and I cant wait to officially join the December group! My period finished 2 days ago, so this is our first official month. I am not doing anything- temp, ovulation testing etc.- we are just having fun, as my DH said.
I said to him last night, mid moment, you sure about this, and he smiled and said "hell ya". I couldnt help but laugh. We have been talking about this for over a year, and said January, but he is so eager and wants a baby now! His fever is higher then mine!
Did any other ladies, get to this point, and have a minor freak out? I was laying awake last night, (after watching that video which made it all a reality for me, as my husband said, hey thats your vag right now, thats my sperm swimming and dying) and I was thinking, holy crap, this is real, holy crap, am I really ready for this, yes, but am I really ready for this, this falls on my shoulders, and my body, am I ready for this....... I didnt come to an conclusions. I could not think of any no questions, just anxiety I guess.
My gut tells me that this will take us a while, as I have had some issues, but my head last night was freaking out saying what if this happens quickly!!!
panic moment over..... now I can go to work. ( I have not told anyone at work we are trying, or even thinking of trying, so thank you for listening so that I can focus on 20 little kids all day and not loose my mind!!!)

@stratosphere: wow what a crazy story about your horse! Glad you are feeling better and that's so interesting about the acupuncture. I think I'm def gonna save up and treat myself soon!
@MrsScottish: I absolutely had a freak out moment right when we first decided to bite the bullet and actually try to make a baby! It was just...woah! Welcome to the boards and can't wait to see how your journey unfolds! Good luck!!
I woke up in the middle of the night with really bad indigestion, heart burn. So weird. Possible pregnancy symptom? Never too early in the morning to start symptom spotting!

It looks like I'm out this month - full period already. At least my cycle is shortening, I was not digging my 5.5 week cycles!

Thank you ladies! I probably sound more positive than I am, but each day is a little better than the last. I almost feel like this whole thing was just a crazy dream?
@buttermilk: Awesome video! I watched one similar when we first started trying on youtube..called the great sperm race? It was essentially the same thing but was REALLY long. Like 45 minutes. But also, very thorough!
Just found it (it's actually 55 minutes long - but like I said...really thorough and interesting)
@MrsScottish: Welcome! Yes, I totally had the same freak out. That went away after the first month though! Good luck to you! Hope your stay on the POAS threads is short and sweet!
nectarine / 2932 posts
@swurlygurl: Gah. I'm sorry! Happy to hear your cycle is shortening though. Mine was a little longer when I first got off BC and every month it's gotten a little shorter and is now right at the 28-29 day mark. Hope the same happens for you!

I'm calling it...rolling over to December.
Absolutely stark white negative this morning with FMU and my temp was only at 98.0. Even though I'm on progesterone my temp has been slowly declining over the past couple days. Super bummed because I was SO positive this month and we timed everything perfectly. It makes me feel like...damn if we didn't get pregnant THIS month then I don't know what else we can do.
I have an accupuncture appointment next week so I am looking forward to that. I went a couple times this fall to my mom's accupuncturist and absolutely loved it but couldn't go on a regular basis since she is 2.5 hours away. I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere so I wasn't sure I would find a legit accupuncturist up here. Turns out there is (YAY!) and I'm metting with her next week. She will actually be moving her practice into a new studio opening in December that will house her office, a yoga studio, massage and guided meditation classes. I cannot wait for the place to open! It's getting to the point where I just can't stop my mind from racing and I don't know how much longer I can take it. I think this studio is going to be just what I need.
Question...what do you guys think would explain the sharp pains I've been having on my left side? I need to start really paying attention to when I get them. I can't remember if I got them before I O'ed or not. Could it be a sign of a cyst or something?

@whatsarahsaid: Boo.. I'm sorry love... have you tried "the position" yet. That is on my list for next cycle.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@whatsarahsaid: Accupuncture is on my list too.. please let me know how it goes!
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@dc yoga bee: Yay for taking your life back and doing the things that make you happy! TTC is a roller coaster and it's important to feel and act like yourself since the emotions make us feel/do crazy things. I bet continuing to do yoga will keep you relaxed and that should help baby making as well!
@Littlebit: YES, I watched the Great Sperm Race too, so interesting!
@MrsScottish: Welcome, welcome! Minor freak-outs normal. Glad you are trying the whatever happens method, it's the most relaxing. Good luck to you!
cherry / 235 posts
@littlek: The position?? LOL...do tell.
I guess a lot of my disappointment comes from the fact that this is TTC cycle #2 after my 2nd MC back in May. Both times I got pregnant came during cycle #2 so in the back of my mind I was really hoping we would have the same luck this time.
From my limited experience with accupuncture (have only been twice) I have absolutely LOVED it. I left feeling so much better and with a clearer head. I am really looking forward to going on a more regular basis now that I found someone closer to home.

@whatsarahsaid: I just found out about this.. but I will copy it from another thread...
You: stand on floor and lay the top half of your body face down on bed. Your behind will kind of naturally point to the ceiling. He stands on floor behind you, and that is where my description stops.

@whatsarahsaid: I'm totally going to get back into acupuncture. Well I've onky tried it once and, couldn't walk after! She said my chi was off in my big toe and, thats why i couldn't walk afterwards. Scam? Maybe, but I'd like to give it another try. Especially because the federal health insurance plans I'm looking at cover 20 visits a year.
Oh yeah- BFN today at 11DPO...
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@whatsarahsaid: ugh so sorry about the BFN. I know what you mean about the timing, I tend to think the same way about post-CP cycles . . . but maybe different timing means a successful result when it happens!!
@stratosphere: I am at the point of wishing for AF to arrive so I can make the next cycle official! December seems like a magical time so I have a lot of hope for us rollovers.
nectarine / 2932 posts
@whatsarahsaid: Boo! I hear you, I think everyone has those thoughts..it's so hard to stay positive when you KNOW you've done everything perfectly that month...but try to hang in there! We're all rooting for you!
@littlek: LOL, I've heard of this 'position' before too...I think from weddingbee? I'm trying to remember who it was that swore by it. Maybe it was PrincessBaby??
cherry / 235 posts
@dc yoga bee: Just make sure that the person you go to is licensed. I don't know enough about accupuncture to know if the person you went to was scamming you but definitely be sure to confirm they are licensed.
blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts
@littlek: got my positive a couple hours after I posted yesterday can you put me down for the 28th?
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@littlek: you can put me on the rollovers! I haven't seen AF but she is definitely coming soon.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@whatsarahsaid: oh yeah I totally checked her out before I went. She worked at the chiropractors office I worked at while in college. She was licensed. I just have messed up chi! Too much of a stress basket!

@littlek: BFN on 11dpo. :-(. You can put me with the rollovers. Thanks!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@cavalierkcs: I'm sorry. I got a BFN this morning at 11dpo too. Will you be testingagain at all before AF, or is AF already here? If not, it's not over for us yet!
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@whatsarahsaid: Sorry to hear this. It sounded like everything was going so right, life is unfair sometimes. Hoping you get an early Xmas gift of a BFP next month!
@cavalierkcs: @dc yoga bee: How long is a regular LP for you guys? Mine is usually 14 days! FX and hoping AF stays away!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@princessandthebee: Hmm I don't know, it's our first month ttc. I got a positive smiley using clearblue digital on,CD 9, and think I ovulated on CD 10. My cycles are 26-28 days long. *TMI* Yesterday I had tons of sticky CM, which was CD 20 so I don't know it means. No clue if that answered your question but, that's my month story haha!
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@dc yoga bee: Yea, is it your first month off BC as well? Then it will be hard to figure out. My first cycle off nuvaring was beautiful- a perfect Day 14 ovulation and a textbook 28 day cycle. Unfortunately, it keeps getting longer and longer now!
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
Anyone else testing soon and trying to stay distracted? The hubby and I are going to see Thor 2 tonight to keep my mind off tomorrow... Anyone else doing something fun tonight?
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@princessandthebee: Nope, was on bc for three months 5 years ago.
blogger / persimmon / 1225 posts
@dc yoga bee: That's good, no need for your body to regulate then!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@princessandthebee: I have one test left, but I'm not going to bother testing untio Tuesday. I've been getting stark negatives!

OMG...freaking Google! I was just trying to see if I could find other reasons why I might be having the sharp stabbing pains in my lower left pelvis and now I'm pretty much convinced I have ovarian cancer! But..I mean...they would have seen that when they did the ultrasound during my last to MCs right? The tech even said she was making sure my ovaries looked ok.
Good lord...can this day be over yet? I need a drink!

Cross posted from 6+ thread:
DH's SA came back completely normal in all regards. PHEW. Pretty much what I expected, but getting that confirmation is awesome!
grapefruit / 4649 posts
@whatsarahsaid: Google is the worst! I would imagine they would have seen something during your ultrasound. Cysts are a definite possibility though. Maybe chart it this month and call your doctor if it continues?
@princessandthebee: Good luck trying to keep busy, I still haven't mastered that.
@bhbee: I hope AF arrives soon for you, I hate the limbo time period. Here's hoping December is super magical!
@Littlebit: Thanks for posting that video, I am totally fascinated by all of this so my exciting afternoon will involve watching that while I clean my guest room!
@MrsMcD: I am glad you got a positive! I am sorry to hear about your friend's loss, crummy as the timing is it was the right call on his part. I hope you were able to make up for lost time last night or this morning.
@stratosphere: We will probably have similar timing next month, hopefully Thanksgiving won't throw too much of a kink into timing. I hope your acupuncturist works wonders for you this month!
Gross/TMI question but this is really only my second period in like 4.5 years because of having an iud so I just can't remember. How normal is clotting? Size? I am using a divacup if it makes a difference...
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
I will probably POAS on 11/25, even though that might be too early (got a positive opk today, so that will put me at 9 or 10 dpo), because it's the day my husband gets back from a 10 day work trip and his birthday is the 24th, so it would be a really great surprise for him to come home to, if it was positive, of course. FX!
Sending lots of hugs to those of you who didn't get your BFP this month. Here's to next month!
Congrats to all those who got a BFP!
