Cars, the original, not Cars 2, it has some scary scenes depicting death.
Planes also has a sort of scary scene, where the hero drowns and there is a war/shooting sequence that could be scary.
I can't remember off the top of my head if any of the Toy Story movies have scary scenes, it has been a long time since I've watched them.

Toy Story 1 doesn't have anything scary. Same with the original Cars.

I'm curious too. My son is scared of practically all videos and movies, even things that are not scary at all like Curious George and Bob the Builder. He only watched 20min of Cars before we had to turn it off. We need some new videos before we start traveling soon.

@lamariniere: My son couldn't watch a movie from beginning to end the first few times either. So, what we did, was we showed him the scene selection on the TV and he picked what he wanted to watch, usually 10-15 minutes.
When he watches Cars, he actually watches from the 4th scene on, in both movies.

Thanks everyone! Although I'm worried about the tractor guy (cow? Tractor tipping) I'm probably gonna go with cars

@mrs. wagon: Not scary, have you seen that part? It's just Mater and McQueen fooling around in Cars 1. In Cars 2, they tip over Colossus...that part can be a little startling, lol.
I know way tooooooo much about Cars, lol.

I can't remember any scary parts in Cinderella...unless the visiting the step-mother would be too scary. Her room is kinda dark in one scene, but I'm not sure if that would be scary to him?
I do agree with Cars though...I can't remember any scary parts there!
It was hard to come up with a full length movie without scary scenes!

@looch: @Dandelion: My four year old was terrified of Toy Story the first time he saw it!
@mrs. wagon: Common Sense Media is a great source for checking out if a movie is good for kids!! They even have a "Violence & Scariness" metric. The Gruffalo and the sequel weren't scary (only one scary star):

We've had good luck with the curious George movies (based from the show)

@mrbee: my kid is terrified of The Gruffalo book, so I don't think the videos would go over well at all!
@looch: scene selection is a good idea, we'll have to try it the next time, thanks!

Cat in the Hat (with Mike Meyers)
Mary Poppins
Bed Knobs and Broomsticks (although there is a part at the end where the suits of armor come to life to fight off the Germans . . . )

There is a bubble guppy movie - puppy and the ring. Only an hour though!

@MsLipGloss: Ditto on Mary Poppins. The bird lady may be a little scary, but the story comes full circle. That's my childhood favorite.

Following because everything is scary to my 3 year old! Or upsetting. If she sees anyone crying or feeling blue, forget it. She bawls.
If you need something longer for a car ride, she has been OK with Barney so far. The ones on Netflix are about 50-55 minutes.
@debbiei8: She was scared of Cinderella! I can't remember why, though. I thought she would love it since she was Cinderella for Halloween.

Didn't the first Toy Story have that creepy next door neighbor that stitched different toys together? Those freaked me out!
It's not animated, but we love The Muppets (the original and the new one).

@MsLipGloss: Yes, that was his name! I was too lazy to look it up. Those toys STILL freak me out a little bit
