Do you care if your LO gets his/her hands dirty, eats/chews things that aren't the cleanest?
I used to be crazy about making sure everything was clean.. but eh. I've lightened up a lot.

I don't care about dirt... I care about keeping his hands free of germs though! I used to not be as careful, and Charlie caught a million colds... so now I wash his hands quite a bit!

@mrbee: eek! yeah. I don't like LO playing with other kids at this age because EVERYTHING goes into her mouth. Kids are so germie.

I don't mind so much. My hubby is a different story though.

The one thing that bothers me is kids (nieces and nephews mostly) putting their hands in my LO's mouth. I know she likes to try to do that, but they are old enough they can pull their hands away.

Same with me. I don't care about dirt but I do care about germs. If he's out playing at the park and eats some grass or dirt or eats a cookie that fell on the ground, I don't freak out. But if he's at a place with lots of kids (like a public playroom), then we'll constantly be sanitizing.

I don't worry about it much at all. I don't sterilize bottles, pump parts or pacifiers, I just wash them in soapy water. (I did the initial boil in water for 10 minutes though) I use the 5 second rule when a dry puff or cheerio falls on the floor at home. I lick DS's paci and stick it back in his mouth when it falls out.
I've never been a clean freak at all, and having DS didn't change that.

I've never been a germ-a-phobe at all what so ever. Neither was my mom when me and my siblings were growing up and I think the exposure to all of those germs when we were young has ultimately made us healthier.
We were talking about this over the holidays actually and she remembers that even as young as in kindergarten/first grade, our friends were having to stay home from school all the time because they were sick and we never wound up sick and often had perfect attendance records.

I don't care at all! I would spend way to much time trying to keep everything clean, I don't think it would be possible actually, he is so busy! Plus, I am in the dirt a lot too
