@septca: I usually POAS at 10dpo..Going to try to hold off until 12dpo this time..but who knows if I'll actually stick with it!

@septca: I told myself I wasnt going to test so early but this cycle I felt so off and was having the weirdest symptoms. I have never felt like that!! Today, for sure feel like AF is coming, the earlier symptoms disappeared!

@MrsScottish: I'm sorry
@Littlebit: hugs
@littlek: could you please change my POAS date to 12/20? I o'd late this cycle. Thank you!!!

@septca: The first month we were trying, I was so sure it would be negative (DH was working 90 hour weeks and we literally BDed like 2 times the whole month) that I didn't test until AF was due. And even then it was because I wanted to take some advil and I figured I should be 100% certain I wasn't preg. Turns out I was!
Unfortunately we lost that one, so the next time I was way more obsessive. I used opk's, and started testing at 6dpo. My logic was that early bfn's would be no big deal since they were never likely to be positive, and seeing negatives early would make later negatives less depressing. Not sure how well that would have worked out, because I got a bfp at 10dpo.
And unfortunately we lost that one as well. This time I'm SO over it. Last month (first month trying again) I did test a little early, but the bfn's were really upsetting. This month I'm waiting as long as humanly possible. I probably won't even take my tests with me on our trip to West Virginia, which is right when AF is due. So if she doesn't show by the time we get back, then I'll test. Maybe. I just really don't want anymore negatives.
So all that to say I've pretty much tried it all! Super early, last minute, everything. But waiting is a lot healthier for me.

@organicmama: Sorry Big girl period panties did kinda make me LOL though... I might be stealing that phrase!
@cmbknyc: I think it's a mix of always wanting to POAS on a weekend and the progesterone. I can't really symptom spot since I know I wont spot pre-AF or anything when I'm on it. And really won't have any AF symptoms until I stop taking it. I don't want to stop, get a BFP and have my levels drop so I just test while I'm still taking it.
bananas / 9229 posts
@septca: I think I've always waited until 12DPO, if not later. I refuse to POAS during the week. I don't want to have to work after either a BFP or a BFN so I always wait until the weekend. I POAS tomorrow at 14DPO (no AF until I stop the progesterone so nothing too promising based on that).

@septca: with my 1st pregnancy it was a huge OOPS and I found out when at a drs appt.. funny enough they wanted to give me a pregnancy test before they would give me a depo shot... 2nd pregnancy, I didn't realize I missed my period until a friend mentioned something to me.. So, I have no idea when it was I tested but I assume late. This is our first time trying and I tested around 12 DPO. However, I hate seeing BFN so I won't take a test until a missed period.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@septca: I've gone back and forth on testing early and late. I'm with you on your #1 and #2 reasons to test - even with 3 CPs I'm glad I knew each time. and a BFN sucks but I'm going to have the suckiness at some cycle day no matter what. everyone has different ways to deal with things so I see both sides.
I generally try to test later in medicated cycles because you can't tell if symptoms are meds-related or not . . . so I drive myself less crazy. I think 12-13dpo is my ideal testing time frame but I've definitely started earlier many cycles! If I see a 13dpo BFN I will not test again. I don't think I've ever had a "trying" cycle where I didn't test at least once.
This time I'll be pretty good about testing super early (or reading into the results, anyway) since I'm doing a trigger shot.

I am so mad right now. I put my temp in for today and FF moved my O date AGAIN. It says I'm 3 DPO I'm going to lose my mind! I don't know what to trust, I would think I O'd on CD15 or CD16 but FF seems to think otherwise. I'm going to go back to bed and see if anything changes grrrrrr!!
bananas / 9229 posts
@bhbee: I'm totally with you about testing later in medicated cycles. That's why I'm okay with today being 13DPO. I'm taking progesterone each night and won't have any signs of AF until I stop it anyways. I'm just fearful of stopping without testing first, just in case...

@littlek: thanks!! Unfortunately I got a call this morning from the doctor's office that my new doctor is out sick today and that we have to reschedule my "new patient" appointment. So I told the receptionist that I got a on a HPT and want to come in for bloodwork and they gave me an appt with a NP for this afternoon. So now I'm just working and waiting for that!
I did re-test this morning (with both a Wondfo and my last FRER) and the lines def got a bit darker (today is 11 DPO). Can't wait to tell my husband...and still can't quite believe this is happening!

Ladies I forgot my phone at home today! Oh the horror! Cd 14 still a negative opk, but watery cm womp womp womp. So tired of having sex every other day sheesh!!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@dc yoga bee: Thanks. I try not to mention it too much on here, since I know no one TTC wants to think about losses, but I wind up bringing it up a lot because it's relevant! Also, I go nuts when I leave my phone at home! And totally feel you on the being tired of scheduled sex. I decided not to tell DH that AF was over yesterday, just because I know the sooner we start the sooner I get sick of feeling like I "have" to, and DH usually starts saying no after a few times, which is when we most need to since that's when we get close to O!
bananas / 9229 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I might be on board with @septca: about not Oing yet... Thing is, FF is giving you cross-hairs based on your CM and not the OPK. But you've indicated all - OPKs so far. Plus, you noted EW the other day and then creamy again. How were the past couple of mornings temping? They have open circles, which makes me wonder if some outside factor may have affected them being higher than normal. Is this the first cycle you've charted?

@septca: @Torchwood: Thanks! So excited!
@LindsayInNY: I have a very special plan for telling him, in the same spot where we got engaged (and where we went on our first date). It's going to be tomorrow morning... (must go during daylight and we both are at work all day today). It is KILLING me to wait but I've had this idea forever and I know he'll love the significance.

@septca: @LindsayInNY: Aggghhhh that would be so depressing to not O yet. I work overnights at a hospital for 12.5 hour shifts so when I do get home to sleep (an hour away) there really isn't too much time for restful sleep. Coupled with the fact that I am a terrible sleeper to begin with (frequent wakings, about 2 a night) it makes temping more challenging. I did put EWCM on that random day because it was pretty stretchy, but not like it was during that cluster of days around when I thought I O'd. I missed 2 days of OPK tests when we were moving and then got the fertile CM soon after, which led me to believe I did O but missed my surge on the test. I have been taking OPKs since then, too, and have still gotten -'s.
I sent my GYN a message through the patient portal asking for a script to get my progesterone levels checked to confirm O. Hopefully she will provide me with a script next week because I need answers, damnit!
@dc yoga bee: I hate when I forget my phone at home. Mine died a little bit after halfway through my shift last night and I felt like a lost puppy dog. All my patients were sleeping and I kept popping in on them to check how they were doing. One little old lady goes "Honey, you gotta get back to sleep, it's 3am!". That would be so awesome if I were allowed to sleep at my job...
ETA: yes, this is my first *real* time charting. I've charted before but didn't ovulate and had to resort to progesterone and then I got a near positive OPK. It was a pretty annoying experience. FF puts my coverline so high, I think it's more along the lines of 97.1, what do you think?
nectarine / 2932 posts
@LindsayInNY: lol! That's awesome.
@stratosphere: YAYYYYYY!
@littlek: Have fun tonight!
bananas / 9229 posts
@Mrs.Panda: Hypothetically. You missed OPKs and temps on CD12 and 13. BUT, even if OPKs would've been positive, you would've had a temp spike afterwards and you didn't. So I don't think either of those days were O. (Speaking of OPKs, have they been close to + at all or still fairly light?) If, for example, the temps on those days were around 97.4 or so, it's possible that FF wouldn't have given you crosshairs yet (can you tell I've played with FF a time or two??) since your recent temps wouldn't have been any higher really. Were you on BC or anything before? Do you know if your cycles are regular? Having been in your position before, I would keep doing OPKs every day and I would also keep BDing EOD or every 2 days in the meantime, just in case.
ETA: I saw on your blog that you have PCOS. I don't have a ton of knowledge about it, but you took Clomid at the beginning of this cycle which, I presume, was suppose to make you O, right? I'm wondering if it's possible that it didn't. Might be worth asking some of the other PCOS bees to see what they know? Maybe @pui: since I know she took it a couple cycles.

I changed the method in which it detects O to fertility awareness and it puts my O date on the 30th, when I originally thought I O'd. Eff bomb.
bananas / 9229 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I've tried that before - changing the O method in FF, entering fake temps on days I've missed or removing suspect temps/OPKs...
nectarine / 2358 posts
@LindsayInNY: I am definitely not regular. I can go months without a period and have had to use progesterone to trigger my last few. I will make my other cycles, however pathetic my charting attempts were, visible. The way that it is looking on my chart right now is more in line with what I think is really going on, but who knows. The days that I had higher temps in the beginning of my cycle were days that I worked, which I get less rest on, but the temps where I was around 97.1-97.2 were days that I either didn't work or got enough rest on. Maybe I'm grabbing at straws here, but I definitely *feel* warmer since CD 15/16, especially when I'm asleep. And no + OPKs, they were a bit darker on CD15/16/17, but they are very light since.
I kind of want a glass of wine and a plate of pizza rolls right now.
bananas / 9229 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I'm not totally regular either - when I think I am, my body decides otherwise! It's definitely frustrating. Ultimately though, if you did O around the days you think, either a BFP or AF will come! In the meantime, I would have some wine and pizza rolls (I love the pepperoni and combo ones!).
nectarine / 2358 posts
@LindsayInNY: Let's hope one or the other comes, I just want to make sure this dang pill worked! I didn't have hot flashes and put on my angry eyes for nothing!
@stratosphere: Congrats Miss lady! That is so sweet how you want to tell DH, I'm sure the anticipation is eating you up!
I don't know why I am screaming so much in this post.

@mrs.panda: I do 12.5 hr nights too all though thankfully not too often and I find they delay o for me. Last cycle I did 4 in a row and it delayed O by 4 days and my first cycle I did 11 (with days off between) and was delayed by 10 days... More than just a coincidence I think!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Snowdrop: WTF noooooo!! Imagine my voice super high pitched while saying that.
I've thought about converting to days, but I really love my coworkers on nights and would miss them all terribly. There is just something about the night crew that is much more open to my incredible weirdness and often terrible sense of humor.
On another note, I think I broke FF. Or just crushed my phone in a rage.
