Just got brand new bedding. Hoping this brings us good luck in the bedroom!!!

@littlek: I literally LOLed at that. I hope your new bedding is good luck too!!
Has anyone watched the documentary The Great Sperm Race? It's available on YouTube. It's about an hour long but so informative and amazing!

@Mrs.Panda: Oooh, I've heard of this and have wanted to watch it. Thanks for posting!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@mfa_lady: You're welcome! I watched it from a different user who had posted in in 10 minute video intervals because I wasn't sure how invested I would be in it. I just kept clicking next and before I knew it it was an hour later! I just wish I found the long one first haha.

@Mrs.Panda: hahaha well thank you for saving us the time! Can't wait to watch it!

@Mrs.Panda: I have never been so excited for a period to start, lol. Then I can't start using OPKs and following SMEP. Let me know how it goes for you!
@mfa_lady: how did you find out about your missed mc?
Eeek at your back pain. That sounds awful. I hope that this gets you back on track!

@Crystal: First ultrasound. I have long cycles so hadn't had the pregnancy dated yet (but had had my first appointment with the midwife weeks before). I should have been about 10.5 weeks, but all things measured 6 weeks.
We waited for things to happen naturally, which took two more weeks, and then I bled for ages and it took 2.5 months for HCG to go all the way down and for AF (or whatever this is) to start again. New year, new beginning!!
I reeeeeally hope this is your month. What a way to start 2014, right?
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@mfa_lady: oh Hun, I'm so sorry. That's awful.
our 2013 was great until the mc happened. We were happy to say hello to 2014 and our new beginnings.
Here's hoping to an amazing 2014 for all of us!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Crystal: You can't use OPKs or use SMEP? Is there a reason?
@mfa_lady: That would be an amazing way to start the new year! I would be so happy if I got pregnant within the next 3 months because then I could take the holidays off from work
So my resolution to eat better has hit a snag because a friend brought over a Grasshopper pie made with cool whip, creme de menthe and a cookie crumb. I haven't eaten the whole thing, so there's something! lol

@Crystal: Thank you, lady. I really appreciate it.
I'm so sorry for your loss, as well. It is crazy how much the experiences changes/affects us, isn't it? We were also ready to ring in the new year, for that among many reasons. DH and I were talking this morning while walking our dogs about our plans and resolutions for the year, and we included "making a baby" on the list. Here's to hoping!
Cheers to 2014!!!

@Mrs.Panda: Oh, girl, that is genius. I hadn't even thought of that! Now you're going to have me calculating maternity leave schedules for all possible future due dates...haha!!!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@mfa_lady: @Crystal: @Brawly: thank you Hellobee ladies really got me through some pretty rough stuff earlier this year, and I figure it's the least I can do to pass it on! I can't wait to introduce this baby to my HB friends when he/she finally comes, and I can't wait to see you all with
s and healthy babies very, very soon!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Mrs.Panda: not eating all of the things counts as adhering to the resolution, right??
nectarine / 2358 posts
@LovelyPlum: lol I sure hope so! It is soooo good. And how bad can cool whip be for you? At least it's not cheesecake (which sounds amazing).
@mfa_lady: Hahaha yes as a nurse, it is definitely on my mind, especially since I was working on Christmas!

FYI, ladies - FF VIP seems to be on sale right now ($24.99/year). If you've been thinking about it... DO IT!
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Mrs.Panda: oops, I meant then I *can*, lol.
That's sounds sinfully delicious.
Good maternity leave planning!
@mfa_lady: ITA. I now know what to say, and more importantly not to say, to someone going through this.
@LovelyPlum: I can't wait to "meet" your baby! Have you had any sonograms yet?
nectarine / 2358 posts
@Crystal: I was gonna say what is going on! lol. I'm glad you can use those methods! haha. Of course for maternity leave I will take whatever I can get, but it would be nice!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Mrs.Panda: ooh, cheesecake!!! That sounds fantastic.
@Crystal: we have! Benefit of previous losses: I had a sono at every appointment throughout my first tri (my doctor has a portable machine), and since I was in there about a million times for various things, I've probably had at least 8 at this point. Baby looks great-he/she has long legs like Daddy. I'm a little nervous, because at my 20 week, I was measuring a full week ahead, and given how early I found out, it is simply not possible that I could be that far ahead date-wise. So this is going to be one tall kid!

For those that are monitored frequently either for follies or during the 1st trimester: is it expensive with all of those ultrasounds? Do you pay for them individually? Yikes!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@littlek: That's what I figured but since I work for a hospital any of our diagnostic testing is just $100. That's great if you have to get an MRI or something, but with how many ultrasounds monitoring requires that would break the bank pretty quickly!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Mrs.Panda: with my old insurance we had for LO I had something like a $100 copay per ultrasound. And testing was expensive. At least clomid is cheap! But it was all worth it
This time we have better insurance but I'll be maxing out my deductible pretty quick with the iui. And then still have copays for all the visits. And ovidrel and endometrin are more expensive. I am very lucky to have decent coverage and it's still expensive, and I'm not even doing that much compared to the next step.

@Mrs.Panda: funny story: I've only been billed for my 12 week scan, my 20 week scan, and the two I had at 6 weeks (one in the ER, one at a follow up). The rest I had "unofficially"-as in, my doctor has a portable machine that they wheel from room to room as needed, and they don't bill for that. It's not great quality, but it let him/me see that baby was OK, etc. Last week, he was concerned about the length of my cervix, so he just wheeled it in and checked during my regular appointment. The ones that go through my insurance are the ones I do with the prenatal testing unit at my hospital (nuchal scan, gender scan).
I am so lucky that I have good insurance, but it does add up! In 2013, I think I had about $300 worth of co-pays ($10 each) for all of the appointments associated with my losses (initial appointments, m/c follow up appointments, repeat pregnancy loss testing) in addition to co-pays for progesterone and buying baby aspirin over the counter and ER bills from the two times I was there. All told, I'm sure it's well over $500, and that is with really, really good insurance. Still, I know it's pennies compared to what a lot of people pay!

the things we do for TTC - we are supposedly getting 8-18 inches of snow in Boston between now and Friday morning. of course my CD3 appt is Friday morning at 7am . . . but the nurse said they'll be there and luckily being in the city I can walk (trudge) to the hospital. my husband said I was insane but to me it's worth it to be able to know I can start the clomid . . . and it's definitely not the craziest TTC thing I've done.
anyone else getting hit by this crazy storm??
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@bhbee: nope, I'm on the west coast. Good luck to everyone that is in the storms path!
I need to call my insurance to see what they'll cover. Those bills add up fast! I switched medical groups last month, but am seeing a private OBGYN, so it's a little different than what I'm used to with the big hospitals.

@bhbee: we have another Alberta clipper coming our way tomorrow and Friday. We are having my grandmas 80 th party on Saturday so hope it is all cleared up by then!! They are still plowing us out from last weekends storm.

@bhbee: we are!! Our wind chills are supposed to be in the -20 range tomorrow. Staying inside as long as I can help it!

I appear to be out. Having light bleeding and some cramping. Not really sure why it's as early as 7DPO. Feelin discouraged mostly because its so early. I knew our chances weren't good for BFP this month. I just really hope my cycle isn't going all insane. Anyway I am going to continue to follow here because I may actually be able to POAS again this month if this is truly CD 1. Leave it to my cycle to go completely ape shit just when I thought it was doing better.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Is it possible you O'd earlier than you thought? Or maybe this is just a fluke and you're not really out???
@bhbee: Yep, I'm near Boston so it's hitting us! I drove to work this morning, but I'm planning on leaving early!
Ugh, I was soooooo hoping that I O'd on Monday because Hubs and I FINALLY DTD after like 3 weeks of not, but based on temps, it looks like I didn't.... boo!
olive / 60 posts
@Mrs.Panda: Can you change my POAS date to 1/13? FF has confirmed my late O date this cycle.
pomegranate / 3105 posts
Okay so FF has dotted crosshairs and says my test date is officially the 9th. @Mrs.Panda: can you move mine please?
I've had some weird feelings the last two days but I think it's too soon for me to think anything of it. I don't have a lot of faith in this cycle but we shall see.
The last two nights I actually sleep properly through the whole night with no issues, though yesterday I didn't temp.
Happy New Year, everyone!

@bhbee I am in Boston too, so the snow is definitely crazy today. I live in Somerville, but work downtown. I am hoping that the MBTA closes down so I can get out of work tomorrow, but I hope that you can make it to your appointment ok!

@babycanuck: fingers crossed! Did you look into lengthening your LP or are you waiting until next cycle? I'm still feeling great on the B6, I know it's not like that for everyone but I'm hoping that it means that was what my body needed if that makes sense.

@littlek: I haven't look at the comparison in awhile, but my two favorite things are the ability to look at whole symptoms graph for all of your charts and the ability to pause. When I got KU with DD, I had about 5 months left on my VIP membership. I paused it and just restarted it last month (18 months later). That makes it worth the $ to me.

Quick rant: I *hate* TTC. It's so stressful and confusing, even with a fairly regular cycle. Agh!!!!
Thanks.
So, update: last week's pretend/I think I O'ed even though I never had a + OPK O was a just a mindf#@$k. Our timing was great, so of course it would be a fluke. Flood of EWCM and a + OPK this morning. And of course my husband has the flu. So sorry, honey, but time to man up. And please don't get me sick.
ETA: @Mrs.Panda: Can you please move me to 01/15? Thanks!
