I had a repeat pap a week ago (first one since bfp with DD) and it is abnormal with High Grade Cervical Dysplashia aka HSIL. I have had LSIL (low grade) for almost 5 years now but my pap right before my BFP (same month) was normal. The first normal one in 4 years not all of a sudden it jumped to high grade. I go in for a biopsy in 4 weeks to find out how sever the dysplashia is now. This will end in some sort of procedure to remove the abnormal cells/tissue from my cervix. The problem is DD is EBF and will not take a bottle. I'm freaking out more about how she is going to be fed during my procedure then the procedure itself. This is just so annoying to deal with. Anyone else deal with this? What procedure did you have and did you have to be put to sleep? I'm trying not to google.

Sorry about your news, just chiming in after this time last week C wasn't taking a bottle and she is now a pro who is wild when it's taken away to burp, so don't stress over that! I totally did (and know it's hard not to, my anxiety was so high), and when not given any other option, it was shocking how fast she got over it, but we worked hard at it too, but cold turkey worked! Hopefully the procedure isn't long and she will be ok in that spread of time

I'm thinking of you - what a stressful and uncertain time. My best advice would be to do what you got to do and try not to stress/feel guilty (I know, easier said than done!) *big virtual hug*.

If it helps, the colposcopy (where they'd take the biopsy) is really short... like 10ish minutes short. IF you end up having to have a LLETZ/LEEP procedure it will probably be no more than a couple of hours (many GYNs even do them in-office instead of sending you to the hospital). The only issue would be pain/sedative meds in your system if you choose to take them. They usually wouldn't put you under unless you specifically requested it. Maybe in these 4 weeks you can try the pumped bottle a few more times and see if she'll tolerate even a little bit?
I'm sure the Dr probably told you this but stress (and illness) can lower your immune response and make you more prone to dysplasia. Having a new baby and not getting much sleep probably brought your defenses down a bit. So in other words, don't stress!!

I have only had to go as far as getting the biopsy a few times.
However I did have a girlfriend who had the LEEP procedure and she has had normal paps ever since.
*BIG HUGS* I know how scary it can be. Stay strong! The best thing is that you've had normal paps and this stuff is being caught SO extremely early.

I had high grade dysplasia as well, and ended up having 2 colposcopies (biopsies) and then a LEEP. I was not knocked out for the LEEP, just given numbing shots, and I was sore for an afternoon/missed work, but was fine the next day. It was a short outpatient procedure as well, didn't take a whole lot longer than a normal appt, actually. I have had ZERO abnormal paps since! Good luck to you!!!

I don't have much advice, but have had...3 or 4 colposcopies so far for LSIL...not fun.
