I made homemade coloring books and had little packs of crayons for the kids to color at a kid sized picnic table.
For some of the older kids we had four square, bubbles, and chalk outside.
Plus we had set up lots of toys like our play kitchen for them to play with.
As a back up rainy day game we had a musical chairs game planned (but you can use dots on the floor instead of chairs).
We also did a "Guess how big the Birthday Girl is". Everyone wrote down their guess for the # of inches and then we measured her against the wall. After that all of the kids wanted to be measured

I had a sand and water table for the kids, and that was pretty much it. There were mostly adults and only a few kids. The adults socialized, and the kids played with the sand table and also occupied themselves with toys around our house. I felt that there was enough activity.

We only had 3 kids, 2 three year olds and 1 seven year old. I didn't plan any special activity. I let them play with los gifts, they loved that!

Bump, I need this. Any others? I'd rather not have to hire an entertainer...

I plan on just letting the kids play together and maybe have a coloring book station. I thought about a bouncy house, but LO would be too young to enjoy it so I'm skipping it. Kids are great at entertaining themselves at that age!

@tequiero21: We rented a bouncy house. I was so against the idea because I didn't think any of the kids would really play in it, but O-M-G, that thing kept them SO busy. It was well worth the $89 we paid for it.
