So this year we've finally dipped a toe into having the kids do activities outside of school. The six-year-old does chess and karate, and the three-year-old does ballet. They go once a week to each of these. I'm kind of surprised that all of the teachers are trying to get us to do their activity twice a week. Is that normal, or kind of a lot? I mean... unless you know this is a child's great passion, that's kind of a big time commitment considering that a child may have other activities/siblings who also need to be taken somewhere/parents who work far away and are already struggling to get there on time one day a week
