I can't decide whether or not to have a party part for DD when she turns 2 in early December. Obviously I need to get on this now if we're going to do it. We don't have family in the area, so it would be our friends and LOs playmates from playgroups/daycare. We are already going to parties on Sat and Sun of the weekend following her birthday (and the weekend before her bday is Thanksgiving), so we're looking at the weekend of Dec. 13th and 14th.
I looked into having the party at a local YMCA pool (that has a toddler wading pool/sprinkler area... it's $225 for 15 kids. Part of me likes that idea because we wouldn't have to clean the house or worry about how to entertain folks, but it also kind of expensive (and every child has to have a parent wading in the pool). I worry that we could spend that money and then have the party snowed out. Also, only Sunday afternoon is available, which might not be the best time for our friends.
We have a decent size basement/playroom and could certainly have the party at home. Just not sure how to best entertain the kids? I was thinking about a simple brunch party from 10-12...but what to do???
Or, I could just succumb to pregnancy-related exhaustion and skip the whole thing this year!
