So I was out at target earlier and saw the A & A swaddle blankets for $34.99 so I bought them, but then when I came back to my office I was looking at reviews on amazon and someone said there is a difference in the quality between the ones sold by target, amazon or even toys r us. I know the one i bought is 44 x 44 and the some of the ones on the A & A website are 47 x 47.
SHould I just keep what I have or return it and buy it from the A & A website directly?

i've heard the ones from target are not as nice and are smaller as well.
they are actually only $31 on amazon for some 4 pack styles, so i would return the ones from target!

i'm not sure about the swaddle blankets but there is a difference in the sleepsacks depending on where you buy. the ones i got from target and Bed Bath Beyond online are not as thick and warm as the ones i got from amazon.

Wow thats weird that they are all marketed as A&A swaddle blankets but some are nicer or better than others...
@Mrs. Bee: I checked out the link you shared for amazon and those are the same size as the ones I got from target they are also 44 x 44, rather than the 47 x 47 version that is sold on the A & A site. sigh I may just keep what I bought.. I'll think about it some more

I have some of both, and the non-Target ones are nicer. The Target ones work fine, bit I prefer the non-Target version. They are thicker, softer, and quilt-up more.

Yep, A+A for Target are thinner and not as big. I have several and really like them, but LOVE the "real" ones I got from Amazon.

I don't know about the diff between Target and non Target brand. But there is definitely a difference between the original and the bamboo muslin ones. I LOVE the bamboo ones. They're much softer than the original ones, if that's even possible!

They really should make the packaging less confusing so that people know there is a difference between A&A sold at target and the original A&A sold on Amazon or other places

@Mrsbells: totally agree. I actually ended up with the target ones because of what I feel was a scam by an Amazon supplier. They sold both kinds at the same price. I only realized mine were target ones when I compared them to my softer, bigger non-Target ones. Now, I always check Target and A+A's website before purchasing their products on Amazon. Target's prints aren't shown on A+A's website. The ones sold at babies r us are packaged differently under the name "Aden by Aden + Anais." I believe they are similar to price and quality as the Target version.

Eek! I had my Mom buy a pack on Amazon because I love the print (Butterfly Patch - not available on A+A site) and it was much cheaper too. I assumed it was an older print but I just checked and it's the smaller, most likely Target version.
There's no way my Mom will return it (even though it's super easy to do). Now I'm really looking to find more, but the only prints I like only come in single packs, and I'm too cheap to justify the cost, even if it's gifted to me.

My daughter is 15 months old and loves her A&A blankets - we've used them for everything, from swaddling to draping over the stroller in the sun to impromptu play mats. The 47x47 size is amazing (and fluffier too).

I'm eeehh on the A+A blankets...I never used them for a swaddle, but used them as a light cover over the car seat or stroller. If I could do it over again, I'd probably skip them altogether. I got more mileage out of a real sunshade for the stroller and a couple of receiving blankets we got as gifts.
FWIW, a lot of companies make different lines for different stores/retailers. You get what you pay for, so if a deal is too good to be true, there's usually some difference in the product.

I purchased mine through Target, and I felt guilty adding such an expensive swaddle blanket on my registry. Since I don't know the difference, I can say that I was very happy with the size and quality. Next time I will most definitely buy the original line of A+A blankets because it is well worth the price for me.

Serena and Lily has some as well. They're more expensive but the patterns are really sweet. They are the 'real' Aden and Anias blankets - larger size and very soft.

I also have the A+A bamboo ones. They're SO much softer (and larger at 47") than the regular ones! I bought my regular ones from Amazon too. I don't know what all the fuss is about with these blankets. I've washed them a ton, and they haven't really gotten any softer!

Yeah amazon is a bit confusing because some of the sellers on amazon sell both the target version and the real version for a similar price. personally I'm just gonna stick with what I bought, I like the neutral color and I'm happy with the feel and size of it. Its not worth the stress to me.

I got a set for DD from amazon when we were having issues swaddling her as a newborn & we loved them. Thank you for posting this because in the future I'll know to stick with the amazon ones!! I bet you helped a lot of people out here!!

@milkteaandpolkadots: Do your bamboo ones pill after you wash them? I love how SOFT they are but a couple of mine ended up pilling. I still love them but I don't take those ones out as often as the regular A+A ones.

@banana: I don't use the bamboo ones as often since they're a bit too big for my babies now. There's just so much material! I haven't noticed any pilling the few times I've washed them.

@blushink: Not really. I think they're a bit overhyped. They're a really nice weight if you live in a warmer climate and they're easy to use for swaddling because of their large size, but the receiving blankets we got at the hospital work just as well for swaddling

yeah I saw your thread about it on weddingbee. I was about to buy it cos the price was so good but shipping was like 11 bucks which is just not worth it
