I guess I never expected diaper changing to be so eventful since LO mostly stayed still the first few months!
The craziness has started...full body contortions, wiggling in every direction, kicking, inching up and down the changing pad.. I can't wait until DD is potty trained!

Things were awful for a while! I eventually started keeping some toys around to distract him... if I handed him something shiny just before the diaper change, that kept him nicely occupied!

Diapers changes are a battle. DD does not care about any shiny objects. I can see the appeal of potty training now, too!

Passing toys or clean diapers works (almost) every time. Snapping my fingers and whistling also seems to astonish LO into diaper submission.
But you also have to have all diapers, wipes, lotions, etc. ready to go and lined up for lightening fast changes. .

It was like a wresting match every time for a while! My 10 month old is SO active. I've learned to just change her in a sorts of positions... mostly standing up!

I will try a toy next time. This morning she wiggled and inched beyond the changing pad and bumped her head on the dresser....lots of tears!

Yep - diaper changes are soooooo crazy! There have been baby feet smooshed in baby poo due to crazy wiggles!

My nephew is super wiggly. We change his diaper on a changing pad on the floor, with one of the diaper changer's legs slung over his waist so he can't roll away. He's learned that he can't get away in that position and he needs to wait patiently!

Oh boy, lo is only 7 weeks old so I haven't had to deal with that yet. But my nephew was definitely a wiggler! Poop on the feet was definitely the worst.

I just want to pop in and say that I went to visit my friend in the hospital yesterday after she had her baby, and I totally forgot about diaper changing!
At 40 weeks pregnant I completely forgot that I was going to have to change diapers. I got kind of grossed out. hahaha

We usually lay DS on a blanket on the floor because he's so wiggly! Now, he's a little crawling machine and tries to crawl away during changes. Is it time to potty train yet?

my baby is only 3 weeks old but she is very strong and wiggly, she can turn from her back to her side and kicks her legs wildly when i change her.
@Mrsdaredevil: i always though the diaper changing would be hard for me, but it turns out i really dont mind changing diapers at all, its just the lack of sleep that kills me

And just when you think it's bad, it always gets worse. LO loves to roll over and crawl towards the side of her changing table. Her bookshelf is right there and she'll grab for books. I try to distract with toys, but that usually doesn't help.
