My LO is 22 months and I think she is ready for potty training. We've had a potty for the last 4 months or so, but never pushed her to get on it. She was always interested in it, but didn't go consistently. Now she will use it almost anytime I ask. She goes both pee and poop. She will ask to sit on it, especially in the evening. If she is bottomless, she will use it on her own when she needs to. If she goes in her diaper, she will tell me and try to take it off.

We didn't really use rewards initially, other than her dad and I getting really excited, clapping, high-fiving her. She seems pretty motivated by praise and getting to dump the waste into the big potty and flush it. That being said, I recently started offering her mini m&ms and she seems more motivated than ever.

She attends a center based daycare. She's in a class of about 9 students with 3 teachers. They have a child-size toilet in the changing room.

I have told her teachers she uses the potty all day long at home. They have put her on the potty a few times at school, with some success. She has peed and pooped there in the potty, but not consistently. They say that she often asks to poop on the potty, tries for about 20 seconds, then goes back to playing and poops in her diaper seconds later. It seems she doesn't have the patience to sit for long at school.

I want them to sit her on the potty every hour, at least. Is that reasonable? They have mentioned that she is really young... maybe they don't this in her current room? There is one other kid, my daughter's good buddy, who is also going on the potty at times.

I guess I'm wondering, can I ask them to be more consistent/serious about it? I am contemplating doing the 3-day method at home, but I want to know that they will be working on it at school. Can she get the mini m&ms or another reward at school, or is that not fair to the other kids?

How was your kid potty trained at daycare? Any advice? I'm going to try to pick her up early and talk to them about it today.
