I went shopping this week for our LO to get some long sleeved tops, pants, and colder weather wear since Fall can sometimes start early here. LO is 8 weeks old, and currently in size 0-3 months or 3 months. Some of the 3 month clothing fits her well, and others are a bit big so she has some room. I'm hoping to build a wardrobe that will last her through fall/early winter or longer and am struggling with sizes and amounts.
I'm creating the base of her wardrobes with Carters clothing, because I love the mix and match capabilities. My comments below on sizes are all regarding Carters. I've already washed and had LO try on a few 3 month outfits and they fit well with some room. I'm guessing she'll get a month more out of these so I am done buying in this size. She can wear some six month clothing but they are definitely roomy (tops, leggings) but other 6 month clothes are very big on her (cords, sweaters). All of these are from Carters. Here are my questions.
1) Do you find Carter's sizes run small? Have you found that certain items run larger than others here?
2) How many "outfits" did you cycle through in each size grouping? I don't want to overdo it, but at the same time she'll be going to daycare and I'll be back at work so laundry will probably only be done twice a week at the most. I have a separate stash of sleep n' plays so I'm talking traditional outfits here.
3) How quickly did your LO grow out of sizes? I know each baby is different, but I'm curious to hear how your babies progressed through sizes in the early months.
4) For those who live in cold weather areas, how many sweatshirts/sweaters/etc did you have for LO as an infant in any particular size grouping? Could you have used more or did you have too many?
5) Again, for colder weather folks, what kind of jacket did you use?
Thanks for the help!
