I actually find cute wedding dresses at Target of all places. Their regular women's sizes run up to 16-18 and I can usually find something that works for about $30 bucks.

Department stores? What's near you?

i hate the name but Dress Barn has some nice plus size dresses and maybe looking on ebay for used (if you're okay with that)

@daniellemybelle: another suggestion is an empire waist dress in non-maternity! I wore a gorgeous and comfortable dress to my BILs wedding when I was 29 weeks along with Chloe.

@daniellemybelle: I'm sorry! I misread. I'm plus size too and I've had great luck with finding dresses at old navy (is that too informal?) and macys. I'm short, too, which makes me look bigger than I am!

@daniellemybelle: eshakti! They go from 0-36 in sizes. You can also change things with certain dresses (change the hem length, neck line, sleeves). They are having a sale right now and I believe you get either $25 or some sort of percentage off for being a new customer.

The only caveat is that it takes 18 days to receive your order because it's coming from India. Also if you have a shape like mine (pear) you might want to send them all of your measurements so that you get a custom dress. I didn't do that and I was kicking myself.

Oh, and all the dresses come with pockets.

Have you tried Rent the Runway? My sister has rented plus-sized dresses there - just use the online chat with a stylist to give them your measurements and suggest a size. Plus you're renting so you won't have a dress you can't wear again (if you're trying to go down sizes in the future).
