I'm curious what people will think about this situation. My husband and I are talking about our TTC timeline, which we originally thought would be within the next 6 months.

We've been looking at our finances as part of that planning and had some unexpected expenses in December and January. We've been working on paying down debt and building savings but after December and January our "financial freedom" date moved from a year out to two years. Age is a consideration for us, I'm turning 32 in the spring, my husband turns 32 in the summer. Although, I also have no reason to suspect we'll have difficulty conceiving (I realize sometimes there are no warning signs for infertility). My question is: what is your philosophy about the financial preparedness v. age conundrum?

Is it better to try to start a family now and deal with a less than ideal financial situation or, wait for about two years and be in a much better financial situation but start trying to have our first at age 34? Thoughts? Do you feel more strongly about your finances being in order or starting to try by a certain age?
