How do I stop him doing this???? It's driving me insane!

Whenever DH has a cold, instead of blowing his nose, he does these huge great snorts, sucking all the snot back into his head. It's so loud - it woke DD up the other night - and it's completely disgusting!! He currently has a cold and he is sitting next to me, emitting enormous snort-sniffs every three minutes or so......

I've tried talking to him about it but he's just not a reasonable person. He doesn't care that it's revolting - and annoying - and claims that blowing his nose "doesn't work". He goes in a mood with me if I so much as look disgusted when he does it......

Make him stop. Please make him stop. Otherwise I might be forced to cave his head in with a doorstop and bury him in the vegetable patch.

ETA: Just as I was finishing this post, he did it again. A really juicy one. I let out a huge sigh and he bit. "What do you want me to do about it? I can't do anything about it" he snapped (and now he's sitting there in a grump). I want you to stop sniffing!! It's disgusting! Blow your freaking nose. Ugh.
