I can't answer all of your questions, but here are a few:

Almost every plane I've been on has a changing table in the bathroom. I suspect it would be tight, but they are provided.

I'd be inclined to rent a stroller...too many stories of airlines breaking them!

Is one of the bags that you are taking a backpack or on wheels? That would make things easier.

Not every plane has a changing table. Check out if it may be offered by either calling your airline or googling the plane type.

I've just taken 3 long distance flights with my 6 month old (they were looooong flights too, 8 hrs, 14 hrs, and 8.5 hrs) and it wasn't bad.

Nappy changes: yes, every plane I was on had change tables in every bathroom above the toilet - just like what you find in a lot of public bathrooms. They are small and definitely shorter than normal change tables but definitely functional and not that difficult.

As for strollers - we didn't bother bringing one as we had strollers waiting for us in all of our destinations. We just carried LO in a baby bjorn through the airport and brought a blanket that was only to be used on the floor of the airport so she could kick around a little bit during layovers. That worked out pretty well and I was really happy not to have to worry about checking a stroller at the gate.

If you have a friend who can help you, I don't see why you wouldn't bring a carryon plus your diaper bag. She can help you store it overhead and it shouldn't be a big deal.

I don't think most airlines let you have your baby attached to you during take off and landing but I'm not positive. You will need to be able to strap your baby in with the infant seat belt but that can be used in any position, reclining, sitting, laying on the side etc.

I didn't have to worry about formula but I'm pretty sure parents of babies are allowed to exceed the liquid requirements with formula, but you will probably have to taste it in front of security to prove it is formula.

Other than that, just bring some stories or quiet toys to entertain her and make sure she's eating or sucking on a pacifier for descent!

I recently had a trip from Boston to Portland Oregon and it was 6 hours one way and then on the way back I had a layover in LA so it ended up being 2.5 and then another 6.5 hours. On the first leg, my baby had a massive blowout as we were taking off. The bathrooms usually have at least one stall with a changing table - just look for the sign with the mom and baby. The folding table folds over the toilet and, while it's cramped, it's actually better because your body is literally right next to your baby to prevent him from rolling over. I had enough room to change his clothes and if you sit him up, he can look at the mirror and amuse himself while you change his shirt.

I would rent the stroller while you're there. I brought my stroller and carseat with me and it was SUCH A HASSLE. Also, I don't think you really want to deal with packing up the stroller into the case at the gate with a baby. As a side note, we had gate checked our stroller and they actually forgot to load it on the plane so we didn't get it the next afternoon. Thank goodness we had our carrier so we could carry our baby around a little bit. And they let me go through the metal detector with him just strapped to me.

Formula - they'll probably just wave a chemical detector over it but it never goes in the formula and they do it in front of you. I carried about 20 oz of BM and didn't have any issues.

Baggage - if you have your friend helping out, it shouldn't be an issue.

On the plane - try to feed your baby as your taking off to help pop her ears. But be sure to not do it too early, I started feeding when we started moving but it took about 15 minutes to actually take off and my LO was so not interested in eating at that point. Also, try to have new toys to distract her. My LO was fascinated with a tic tac container and played with it for an hour.

I'll comment on the Disney portion since you have a lot of comments on the other aspects. I did Disneyland with my 9 month old and 4 yr old and again when DS was 15 months. It sounds like you may be going to FL, but I would think it is very similar. When he was small, he actually stayed in the infant carrier (we pushed it in the snap n go) for a good part of the time, but if I had to do it again, I would totally carry him around the park in my Beco, but I would have both with me for options. Also, all of the parks have a Nursing Mother's Lounge which can also be used for other purposes such as having a warm place to sit down to mix and feed formula, solids, change a diaper, etc. It is usually in the Main Street area of Disney, and the location varies for other parks, check the map. I believe they also have filtered water that you can use to mix formula. I think they are also stocked with diapers, baby food, etc that you can buy if you are in a bind. Have fun! Disney is very accomodating for infants and everyone is willing to lend a hand.

@chrispygal: I just did London to StL and I'm about to fly back on Thursday. My girl was 8 months when we came and she's 9 months now.

1. The international flight had a changing table, I dont know about our small plane. Check http://www.seatguru.com/ for the airline/plane model and it'll give you all the information on what amenities you will find on your plane.

2/3. I had C in the stroller the whole time I was in the airport. I had my Ergo with me and never ended up using it. I think either way is fine, really. My stroller did just fine being gate checked.

4. You're not delusional. I had the stroller, a diaper bag and a carry-on and I did fine. I was traveling alone. It takes a little maneuvering, but it's doable.

5. Yes, you can take pre-mixed formula. They'll just scan it through this weird machine and they may make you open and taste one. Be forewarned, formula is GROSS. lol

6. Take a couple of toys and maybe load a couple games/videos onto your smartphone or iPad, if you have one, and it's totally fine. C really just chilled with her toys for most of the 8 hour flight from London.
