I've got this dress and while I like it, it's awfully low cut. I thought about adding some lace to the v-neck portion of it. I could also trim a little off the bottom and add it to the neckline, which would probably blend in the most
Any crafty ladies have any ideas?

I always wear a really fitted lace cami under dresses like that. That way it gives me coverage up top but doesn't give me any bulk around my waist or anything. You could do that or add some lace up top! I have to do that with almost everything v-cut that I buy.

I think it would like nice with a modesty panel of matching lace. Chiffon would be pretty too and a little less dressy if that's what you are going for. If you want it to be more casual you could also add a contrasting panel...coral maybe.
I would take fabric from the bottom because you'd have to take a big section to get the coverage you want up top, but then would have a short skirt.

@MsLipGloss: They are awesome! I hate wearing a cami under a dress because I feel like I'm always wanting to pull it down. They have these in crazy colors and prints, too. I ordered a few on Amazon, but I've actually seen them in Marshall's/TJ Maxx since.

The camis totally ride up, that's my issue with them! and the straps would show.
The boob tube would work but i feel like it just screams 'MODESTY PANEL' in an obvious way.
I thought about adding a different color panel to the top (coral would be nice!) and then adding a bit to the bottom so it looks more intentional. The skirt's not super short on me right now so if it was a couple inches shorter, it wouldn't be a big deal

@blackbird: I think it looks just like a cami underneath! But if you want to alter the dress, I would cut a bit off the length and then use the fabric to extend each piece of the neckline, finishing it off so it looks like a hemmed or wide piping.

@blackbird: Are you going to wear the matching fabric belt, or wear a different belt with the dress (I usually wear one of my own with dresses). You could always use the belt fabric to build up the neckline without sacrificing any length . . . ?

Depending on how the top part of those dresses fit on me, sometimes I simply take a safety pin and pin the v part a bit higher. Or I sew it closed a bit more -- depending on the fit sometimes that's all the extra coverage I need!

Honestly, i'm not sure i like the look of the cami underneath. It just draws attention to the fact my boobs are so big, i can't wear the dress as is.
I thought about taking the dress off, but then the dress is huge around the waist. So it *does* need a tie of some kind. Maybe a different color? I could probably dig up a belt that works with this dress.
If i try to pin it or sew the V part closed, it pulls the side of the dress in. It's not loose enough for that

@blackbird: It looks like the back of the dress is higher than the front? This may sound silly, but, what about wearing it backwards? You could easily make alterations to reposition the belt (just a couple of slits and some fray check) . . . ?

I like the idea of adding some lace to the top and adding a matching belt to the lace- then you get to add some more color.

I usually just wear a cami and don't care that the straps are showing, or I'll wear a pullover stretchy bra that looks like a cami, so i don't have to deal with pulling the bottom of the tank top down (hint-- if the cami/tank is long enough-- tuck it into your underwear! Not a sexy look underneath, but it holds the the bottom of the shirt down pretty well!)

Basically you can wear it with the straps up or down (so the straps would be going around your chest), and it comes in fun colors so might look more intentional. But, I felt like it squeezed my boob/armpit fat area too much so I passed on it.
