It will pass!! I felt the same way and still want #2 sooner rather than later but my logical side has taken over the hormonal/emotional side that was so strong in the early days postpartum.

Is this your first? I think it's advisable to wait and see how things go over the next couple of months since babies tend to throw A LOT of curveballs that first year.

Not crazy. My second is 12 weeks and we're considering #3 soon.

@catomd00: I bet so. At first I was intensely wanting to wait like 2-3 years, probably from my semi complicated delivery. But that slight trauma has faded, along with the craziness of the first couple months of tiny newborn. I wasn't even sure if I wanted a second at first!
@yellowbird: Man I bet! The trauma of a newborn with colic would take much more time to fade than the amnesia of labor!
@oliviaoblivia: I guess timing is everything right? I think we only want 2 unless our job situations (well my SO's...) drastically change!
@meredithNYC: Oh I know. I am not so much meaning literally trying again soon. More just like the desire came back strongly after at first being a feeling that I might never want to again! And honestly I was at a baby shower today and seeing the adorable yet very pregnant guest of honor did NOT make me miss the whole being pregnant part of having a baby!

@meredithNYC: aw. Hang in there!! How old is your first? Did you deliver him or her on time?

@junebugsmama: thanks - oldest is nearly 3 and she was a week early, so I'm hoping for a similar situation!

No that's how I was with my first. I couldn't wait to have another (realistic or not).

No not at all! My daughter is a week old and though I wouldn't want the baby right away I have insane baby fever for anther. Not gonna happen though, husband is done. Oh well.

I felt the same way around then but it passed! Seriously going down that path again at 18 mo.

I think in that squishy newborn phase it's easy to see how awesome and cuddly babies are. I would talk about our future family a lot at that stage, because you are thinking about family a lot. I kept talking about #3 after #3 was born and it freaked DH out! It's also easy to get into the "next times" (like, oh next time Inpromise to savor the newborn smell more! Or "next time I should have a birth photographer.) and you are thinking about that stuff because you are in the middle of it right now.
That's different than pulling the goalie at 12 weeks, though!

I felt that way after my second. It started early and has not gone away, and he's 10.5 months.

My DD is 10 weeks and I feel the same way as you!!! Secretly thinking about the next LO even though logically I want about a 3 year age gap.

@junebugsmama: I won't hold my breath. I'm very grateful for my two though. They are perfect!

That was me... and I got pregnant at 4
Months PP with my second. I wouldn't change a thing. I've loved the gap -- DS is 21 months and DD is 8 months.
