I just woke up and I am looking through my email and this is what I see. Noooo....really? Where am I??
The nickname is Nori. Isn't that Japanese for seaweed?

Im holding out hope that they didnt really do it, as only gossip mags are reporting it.
But yeah, more what I expected them to name a kid. Kaidence was too normal.

@zippylef: hope it isn't true, too, but maybe it is something even crazier!

Omg. Poor child..that's up there with Pilot Inspektor!

It's on people.com, so I'm going with it being true. Lamest name ever.

I just saw it on my local news. It has to be true. Haha.

This is perfect. Just called DH to tell him, he said "Oh my God. Did they really?" bahaha
I don't hate Nori, though.

GMA just confirmed its North. But you know what? Her little name has already grown on me. They could still spell it with a Knorth. Like Rudy Huxtable's real name Keisha Knight Pulliam.

Hate it. Easton West sounded ok (for a boy) but NORTH WEST? No that name needed a 2 syllable 1st name. Nori isn't bad but it's a stretch getting it out of North IMHO. It's something a "normal" person would likely avoid, I hate when "celebrities" go wild instead of something tamer (like Kourtney with Penelope and Mason.)

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Knorth!! They should do that. It makes the name even more ridiculous. Love it.
@anbanan15: @MrsTiz: I hope they will stick to Nori!

@littlek: @Andrea: or why didn't they just call her Nori? One answer. Attention.

Parents.com just put it on facebook, so I guess it is true. Poor kid.
I will admit that I dont think North is THAT bad on it's own, but North West is AWFUL.

@mediagirl: What?! Why would the Kardashians ever do something for attention?!

All I keep thinking of is that Elijah Wood movie with the kid named North

@Shutterbug: Bruce Willis as a pink bunny. All arguments are now rendered invalid 0_0 Seriously, cannot cope with this mental image!

@Dandelion: haha I know. I hate contributing to the attention. But I can't help it. Then I hate myself for it.
I can safely say that North is NOT a name that we considered for our baby though. So, for that reason, millions of parents-to-be should be grateful.
And actually, Nori is kind of cute. Even if it is seaweed.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: At least Knight is a real word. Knorth is not!
I read an article where they say the people of Portland will not be happy with "North West". haha

I grew up with a very close friend named Nori, so I don't mind the nickname at all. But North is a total disaster combined with West. Poor kid.

I think North is a really beautiful name ... I just think North WEST is a little much. I am glad they didn't do an odd-spelled K name.

@BananaPancakes: @chopsuey119: people.com also announced Britney's second son as "Sutton Pierce Federline" in 2006. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,1535422,00.html
there's hope this isn't really true?? lol

With the Knorth possibility, I keep thinking of this and wanting to make spinach dip.

@mediagirl: because they are idiots. But they have millions of dollars and I don't so ....
@Foodnerd81: @MamaMagpie: @highwire: ok, I had time to Google it and Nori doesn't just mean seaweed!
http://www.babynames.com/name/Nori
But who knows what those two are thinking.

I refuse to believe it until there's an official confirmation. It just seems SO ridiculous!

I like the name North... but mostly for a boy.... whose last name is not West.
