I took 12 weeks. My company paid 6 weeks for "short term disability" which is the normal amount for a vaginal delivery. Then, I took 2 weeks vacation and 4 weeks unpaid.

Even 12 weeks felt way too short, so I went back part time after that and have worked a 3 day a week schedule ever since. I feel lucky my professional allowed that reduced schedule and that our budget could afford it!

I took 10 weeks. Our policy is that the first week we have to use our own days (vacation or sick that we have left over, if you don't have any to use then you are given them for free). Then you get 8 paid weeks. My return date fell on a Tuesday so I used vacation days to take that 10th week off as well.

My company also has a phase back period. The first week back you work 3.5 days, second week you work 4 days, third week you work 4.5 and then the 4th week you're back full time.

With DS -Got 8 weeks STD and then used 4 weeks FMLA - However I started working from home 10 hrs per week at 10 weeks. I was just tired so I took a few more weeks and used some vacation time just to get $$ and went back at 14 or 15 weeks. Once back in the office it felt good to be back!

With DD - Got 8 weeks STD and then 4 weeks of FMLA - I started working from home 10 hrs per week at 10 weeks. I went back to work at 12 weeks. It was the right time.

12 weeks FMLA. 6 weeks paid throughStD. 3 weeks of vacation time. Then the rest was unpaid. I went back t work part time 3 days per week the whole first year. Then worked full time after a year.

I was not FMLA eligible due to the size of my company.

I changed jobs at 5 weeks and disclosed in the interview I was very newly pregnant. They ended up making my maternity leave as part of my offer - 8 weeks, paid.

My company gives 16 weeks full pay as the standard for adoption and birth.

I took 10 weeks.

My company's standard is 12 weeks and I did qualify for FMLA. My company did not offer any paid leave, and I was required to use all my sick and vacation time before going on unpaid leave, which amounted to about 2 weeks unpaid.

I came back full-time at first. My biggest issue with it all was being forced to take all my time and hold nothing in reserve, because my husband is gone all the time, and if baby got sick, I would have to stay out unpaid. I only came back for a month and then went part-time.

I took 12 weeks. I am FMLA eligible, but did not use it. I used a combination of my sick and vacation leave. I went back full time immediately.

This time I will probably take around the same amount of time, although I don't have enough leave for it to all be paid, so some will be unpaid, which is scary. I will be going back part time.

If I didn't have sufficient PTO time, I took unpaid leave until my 12 weeks were up.

For #1 I took 10 weeks, 8 unpaid. I used my vacation/sick for 2 weeks paid. I was not eligible for fmla.

For #2 I'm taking 13 weeks. I am fmla eligibke, 6 weeks will be std paid at 30% of my income and the last 7 weeks will be unpaid. I would have to use my vacation/sick time but I won't have any by the time I go on leave.

I'd planned to take 12 weeks with FMLA. 6 would have been 'paid' at a fraction of my salary (so, basically next to nothing). The rest unpaid, but I took out an AFLAC STD policy that provided a little extra income. I highly recommend doing this if you can!!
During that time DH ended up accepting a job in a different state so I never actually returned.

I took six weeks. My mom and I run a business (an in home daycare) together and I felt bad leaving her for longer than that. She did have a sub to take my place, but it's hard working with new people who don't necessarily know the routine or the kids. She would have happily let me take longer if I'd asked. Obviously, I would have liked to stay home longer, but the transition wasn't so bad since I was taking DD with me to work. I got full pay while I was gone.

With DS, I took:
6 weeks STD

2 weeks unpaid

With LO#2, I plan on taking:
6 weeks STD
4 weeks PTO
6 weeks unpaid

So I was not FMLA eligible because my employer was too small. By which I mean... my boss and me. Also because of that there was no policy about maternity leave, so I was really nervous about what would happen when I told him I was pregnant, although he is a really nice guy and has three kids and is all about kids so I was hopeful. I pitched 8 weeks paid leave. He said he didn't feel that was sufficient bonding time with the baby and he didn't like the idea of daycare that young, and asked if I'd like to just take a half a year off or something (unpaid). I told him we couldn't afford for me to not work. We settled on 12 weeks paid leave and then 4 weeks with me working as much as I could while still keeping the baby at home (I worked from home anyways) and thereafter I was supposed to have her home with me 2 days per week and in daycare 3 days per week. Basically the most ideal situation ever.

Then he decided to close up shop like 3 days before LO was born so as it turns out I've been taking an (unpaid obviously lol) leave for like..... 9 months. Sigh.

FMLA eligible both times (well, maybe not second time because I hadn't been there for a year - not sure? It wouldn't have been an issue though).
First company paid for STD plan and I took 7 weeks semi-paid.
Second company, I started there while already pregnant so I couldn't take out a STD plan, also could not afford to not work, so I took 4 weeks unpaid.
For the third time, I'll have a STD plan, and will plan on 7 weeks again.

For both of my pregnancies I took 12 weeks off because that is what my company allows under FMLA. For my first pregnancy I used sick, personal and vacation time that I had accrued and I had to take about 6 weeks of that unpaid when I ran out of time. With my second pregnancy I also used sick, personal, and vacation time and I also had a small amount of short term disability but approximately 5 weeks of that was unpaid.

I maybe would have liked 6 months off. By the time I felt that I was getting in the grove it was time to come back to work

FMLA eligible. I took (and am taking again) 12 weeks.

3 weeks paid vacation (2 that I saved, 1 given as a congratulations gift) and the rest is unpaid. No STD/partial payment, everything is out of pocket.

I did the same for both of my boys. I took the full 12 weeks using FMLA. The company does not have an actual maternity leave. This is how it broke down:
1st week - used sick time before STD kicked in
Weeks 2-8 - STD paid at 100% - I got 8 weeks because I had a c section. Also the percentage of pay is based on title or years of employment.
Weeks 9 & 10 - vacation time
Weeks 11 & 12 - unpaid
I wish I had more time off. At least 4 more weeks would have been great!
