My DH tells the worst dad jokes ever so at dinner the other night, I was pretty much done with the corny jokes and I guess it was obvious to my DD because she turns to him and says, "you better stop jokin' or you'll be out of the family Dada"

We went on a little hike tonight. There was a dog on the path and after confirming that my DD wanted to pet him, the owner told his dog to say hello to her. She looked at him and said "dogs don't talk, he can't say hello!" in a voice that sounded like he was just the dumbest person for even suggesting that. Luckily he laughed it off!
Another recent one: driving down the road in silence and then out of nowhere "Mom, do chickens have ears?"

This morning DS said, "Remember the time I got a balloon and then all of the alien went out of it?"
DH figured out he meant helium

Well LO doesn't talk yet at 17 months, BUT he has recently learned how to kiss me on the mouth and I love it! Though I wasn't raised on a kiss-lips family and I don't think I'll really do it much in the future, but for now it's so sweet

DS (19 months) has an old calculator that he loves to play with and recently began pretending it's a phone. He holds it up to his ear and says "hi, ok, bye." In a very serious tone like a little business man and then slams it down and walks away. It's hilarious. We don't even talk on the phone that much in front of him and especially not like that!

My 5 year old wakes up every day and says today is going to be the best day. I love his optimism.
