Approximately three weeks ago we sleep trained because our LO would take over an hour to rock down and then wake up every hour throughout the night. After sleep training the crying was at a minimum and she was putting herself to sleep when we put her down drowsy. A week ago she learned to roll back to tummy and everything fell apart. She rolls over and over and over again and gets stuck. She doesn't know how to roll tummy to back and I believe it would be cruel to leave her to cry it out in a position she is uncomfortable in so I go in, flip her, kiss her good night and leave again. Now every night she rolls 20+ times and it takes over 45 minutes every night for her to cry it out and fall asleep. After night feedings (at 2am and 5am and sometimes 11pm) I stay up watching the monitor rolling her over again and again. What should we do??? This feels insane and turning into our entire night.

That's so frustratibg! I know it doesn't help to hear, but it's just a phase they go through. It took DD about a week or two before she figured out how to roll back or fall asleep in the position she landed in.

We're dealing with this to some extent right now too. We still swaddle DS because otherwise he doesn't go to sleep; however he keeps rolling himself over and getting stuck. I have to go turn him back onto his back and while not as many times as you it is still frustrating. Occasionally he will just fall asleep on his tummy.

@BabyBoecksMom: I'm hoping its a phase too! We've been doing lots of tummy time and she is trying soooo hard to get her tummy to back roll. So it's only a matter of time. Just very frustrating at the moment!
@purrpletulips: We transitioned her out of the swaddle around four months because she was kicking out of every swaddle. The irony of all this is she sleeps better on her stomach lol she just can never be awake and roll to sleep.
