We are working in relocating to the central coast (CA) & are applying for jobs. I'm interviewing next week with the county office of education over in that area. We know going into this we will be taking pretty big pay cuts bc it's a much more desirable area to live in. However, they are also desperate for speech pathologists so I was wondering if I get offered a job, is it worth asking if the salary is negotiable? I know the pay scale is negotiated with the union so is it something I should ask HR still? I don't want to come off showing bad etiquette but if it's something that may be negotiable then I also don't want to not ask! Thoughts??
