I have a Britax Pavilion. I also have a 35" 2 year old who is currently rear-facing. How do I know when she is too tall to be rear-facing? I know you can't move the seatback up while rear-facing. How will I know when it is no longer safe for her to ride in this seat, rear-facing?

The rule is when their head is one inch below the top of the actual shell of the car seat, they are too tall.

I saw a video that suggested placing a book on her head that had a 1 inch spine as an easier way to measure. If you can still see the top of the seat over the book, she's still ok.

Yep, one inch from the top of the shell, not that sliding head adjuster thing (sorry for the super technical term, but I don't know what it's called, lol).

or if they reach the max height limit in the manual for rear-facing (general requirement for carseats, but Britax may be different).

Yup, inch from top of shell. I doubt she would be at the actual height limit yet which is really high (but pisses me off because that's why I bought the marathon without knowing about the inch rule -- so misleading; $$$ mistake for us
)
