Does any use the Emergen Thermometer? My pediatrician recommended it so I bought one today to have on hand. I don't mind the price tag ($50) as long as it reliable so I am hoping someone has experience with it instead of depending on google reviews. Thanks!

Is that the temporal artery thermometer? I have one, but I think it's Exergen. I like it! I got mine at Babies R Us for half off on black Friday. I think it can be used after 6 months of age.

I have it... The Exergen temporal? Here's the thing, you have to be sure to use it with correct technique and keep the sensor clean per manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise, you could swipe that thing multiple times in a row and get a whole slew of readings. We used it at this hospital I used to work at and the doctors always joked that it was a "magic wand"... they always took the info from those thermometers with a grain of salt. I have the Braun ear thermometer too and think the readings are much more consistent and accurate.

I think the readings are very inconsistent and I once thought my daughter had a low fever for days, but she probably didn't. I would get an ear thermometer instead.

I have it and love it. You just have to make sure you are using it correctly. Have you already opened it? I ask because I know that Costco has been selling it for $24.99.

I have it and used to liked how easy it is to use, but we felt the readings were very inconsistent. We recently just got the Braun ear thermometer, recommended by another HB member and it is amazing! Also just as simple to use!

I like it! Agree that you just need to follow directions, and I usually take the temp a few times to make sure the readings are consistent.

You ladies are right, it is the Exergen. That's what I get for trying to go off of memory. Thanks for the feedback. I am going to go look at the ear thermometer since I haven't opened this one yet.
