Is it really worth it to have a nylon lining (vs polyester fleece like some of my pocket diapers or unlined PUL). Any other differences that I'm missing?

Do you think a non-nylon lining would keep poo in the diaper when in the water? We used gDiapers, so they are a little different, and I used them a few times (without the absorbent insert) as swim diapers when we happened to run out/forget. They have a plastic liner though, so I was confident in their ability to keep the poo in. Luckily, we never had a poo incident while using them.

@lamariniere: they all have a PUL outer layer, so, yeah, they'd keep in poo. Unlined PUL might be uncomfortable on bare skin though?

@lilyofthewest: We really only ever did it in "emergency" situations and for short periods, like 20 minutes or less, so I wasn't worried about comfort or skin irritation.

My understanding is that a regular diaper cover will be damaged by the chlorine and the coating will eventually separate. There isn't anything soft in there with just a cover and I would think it would be uncomfortable but in a pinch I would use one and just rinse out really well after swimming.
