So I was visiting my parents out of state a few weeks ago and we stopped at the Stride Rite store so that grandma could treat LO to new sneakers. This is her third pair of SR shoes and we have had no complaints.

Well, three weeks later, the velcro is already separating from the strap and I had to sew it back together last night so she could wear the shoes to daycare today. I emailed customer service and got a response encouraging me to take the shoes back to the store or to mail them in. There is no store within 2 hours of here so I would need to mail them. The email says that they will be examined to determine if they are "defective" and if so, I can get a replacement shoe.

So, has anyone done this? In order to send her shoes away to be "examined", I would need to purchase another pair of sneakers as they are required at daycare. Is it worth it? Has this worked for anyone else?

Thanks in advance--I am so perplexed!
