We took a class when my son was young but never really followed through and he didn't use any signs. When he started daycare at a year, though, they did some signs and he started doing eat and more all the time. I think it would work.

It's never too late to start! I started early with my kids, but I taught baby sign for awhile. Especially if your little guy is having a tough time with spoken language, the sign would be a great way to bridge the gap! We used signs like help, all done, more, etc to ease frustration.

My son was a year and no where near talking so by 15 months or so we started and really just focused on a few key ones. Like more, eat, drink, all done.

DS is 16 months and we're still teaching him signs. He's known more for awhile, he learned drink last month, milk last week, and just last night mastered please. I think at this age they pick it up a lot faster!

LO was about 19 months when they got a new daycare teacher that worked a lot of incorporating signs and he picked up 4-5 signs over the past 2 months that he uses regularly.

It's never too late to start! Look up some Signing Time videos on YouTube. My kiddo loved them when he was about that age!
