I feel like the vast majority of sales aren't really sales or might claim 50% off but since I've been tracking the product it's really only maybe 1% less than the previous week.
What are your tips or tricks for keeping an eye on something and finding when there's really a sale or good coupon?

I add a lot of like frugal mom blogs to my RSS feed and usually they will make posts about what's really a great deal. I also joined some deals groups on FB.

I find in store sales at Old Mavy can be awesome- way better than online. I'm on the email list.

Totally depends on what you are shopping for. For general stuff on Amazon, a good site to check out is camelcamelcamel.com which shows historical price data for each item. You can set alerts so that if the prices drops below a certain price, it will notify you.

Yeah, if it's a big ticket item like furniture I just track it on several websites and usually over a holiday weekend or something is when it's on a "real" sale.

Agree with @catlady! Camelcamelcamel is amazing. I have a ton of alerts set up for things that I want to buy once they go on sale.
