I would keep socks/dress him warm for the flight since airplanes can get a bit chilly.

Keep diapers and wipes handy at all times is helpful especially during the flight or when you're deboarding and need a quick diaper change.

Having a burpy cloth nearby is also good for catching drool, spits up, and boogers. Can be a good "toy" if your LO is into it (DS likes to put his burpy cloth in his mouth and suck/chew on it).

I flew with C when she was about 5 months old. We put her in a footed sleeper for the flights, so we didn't have to worry about losing socks, taking pants off for diaper changes, or anything. I had my diaper bag packed up but also had a separate diaper 'clutch' with just a couple of diapers, wipes, changing pad, and burp cloth, to make it easier to grab and bring to the bathroom for changes. Then there were extra diapers plus favorite toys and a change of clothes (for C and a clean nursing tank for me!) in the diaper bag.

C loves comfort nursing, so I brought a nursing cover and travel boppy and I nursed her a lot on the flight.

Oh and we packed two suitcases-- one big one for me and C (hint- weigh it before leaving for the airport, I would have gone over!) and a carry on size for DH. He gate checked the carry on one so we wouldn't have to pay to check it. We also had the car seat and snap and go base. Practice folding it and putting it in whatever bag you are using at home And allow extra time at the airport!

Oh and if you are traveling with milk or formula, you can bring it through security just alert the agent when you are in line, they will just swipe those explosive detector pads over it. You can carry LO through security, or keep her in a carrier and they will swipe your hands after you go through.
