We have a 2007 Corolla and 2 kids. DH uses it for work mostly but we do use it on the weekends if we are driving any distance but don't need to pack a lot of stuff. With rear facing car seats it is a little tight. I am fine but DH is about 6' and rather cramped when we are all in the car. It was fine when there was no seat behind him and it will be fine once our older is forward facing. You can definitely only fit 2 car seats in the back. DH installed the seats using the LATCH and says it's a little more difficult than our RAV. We could not get the seat safe in the middle with the seatbelt.
If we are going for an overnight trip we have to take the RAV. The trunk space is decent in the Corolla but not massive.

ETA we have definitely found it to be a reliable car and very fuel efficient. The fuel efficiency makes up for the lack of space but if we didn't have it before kids we would've bought a prius instead.

I used to, I loved it. Very roomy, fuel efficient, never had any problems. I only got rid of it because I wanted a 4WD for the winter!

I have a 2009 Corolla and I'm in love with it! We live in the 'burbs of a big city (in Texas! Welcome!) and drive everywhere so DD and I spend tons of time in the car. Gas mileage is great and I think the trunk is huge- I can fit our B-Agile, double Maclaren, booster seat, pack n play and some other random crap easily. Have never found it too small, even on trips. I'm 5'7", DH is a few inches taller and we've got plenty of driver leg room up front with a RF car seat in the middle, but passenger is a little less comfy. With a RF seat behind the driver it sucks a little more, but depending on your child spacing that might not be an issue. I can fit our Radian (with angle adjuster) RF in middle with FF seats on either side, no prob. So for one RF kid, totally great car but with more than that it's not ideal...but can be done, as I will have to in 3 more months!

Hubs has a Corolla and really likes it. Awesome gas mileage and very reliable! BUT it's not the most roomiest car in the world. The back seat isn't that big and fitting the Graco My Size 70 rear-facing in the back is a bit of a challenge. We have it in the middle (no LATCH there, have to use seat belts) in order to avoid it hitting either front seat. But once baby #2 is born, we'll have to move the convertible over to behind the passenger seat, which will have to move up to accommodate it.

I have an Accord - so much more room!

ETA: Wanted to add that Hubs is only 5'7", so the driver's seat really isn't that far back, but we wouldn't be able to fit the convertible behind his seat without moving it. Though I'm sure there are other, smaller, convertibles that would fit just fine! We just happen to have the Graco My Size 70, which is bulky.
