It took R and me 5 hours to get home tonight!! 3 hours was to go maybe 2.5 miles once we got off the highway. There were tears on both our faces but R was a trooper! At least I know she likes she her Clek car seat!!
But she is asleep, day care is closed tomorrow, and most importantly we made it home safe and sound. But man this tastes good!!

I have a 6 pack of Troegs Perpetual IPA in the fridge but I'll wait until E is down in an hour or two to break into it.

Hell yes! I spent yesterday evening pulling the house apart trying to find my husband's passport because he has to renew his visa. Super stressful. And today has been a mammoth dissertation writing slog. I'm so looking forward to cracking open the bottle of Sauv Blanc that's sitting in my fridge once A. goes down for the night.

@Crystal: Snow. Schools all let out at the same time so everyone was trying to get home at the same time. Traffic is horrible here usually and then you add snow, cluster F!
@MsLipGloss: you need it just as much as me. I only get one glass, DH must has been getting in it!

I asked DH to bring home wine and he did not. Tempted to go out in the cold and get some myself!

I've got a Mill St. Vanilla Porter in the fridge that I was saving for the weekend...but maybe I'll drink it now in solidarity with my HB friends

About 6 years ago Seattle had a freak ice/snow storm - people were abandoning their cars...it took me 6 hours to get home on the bus and it dropped me off by my condo so I didn't even have my car. And again about 4 years ago we just had snow and it took me 4 hours to get home and I was too afraid to drive up the hill to our subdivision so my husband had to meet me and drive up my car and then his car and he helped a few other ladies stuck on the hill...and we got home and our power went out (so all our thanksgiving groceries went outside in coolers). I hate snow

I am! Enjoying one of my favorite beers: Lagunitas Sucks. DD had her first round of vaccines today, and I discovered today that we may have overpaid for health insurance last year. Mama needs a drink!
