News of North Korea restarting the nuclear plant & the that the US seems to be more guarded has me a little nervous. I haven't followed that closely and the media sure has a good way of hyping things up so I don't have a very clear picture of what is happening.

I feel like the media/some people in the US are kind of laughing it off, which I get but, it's a lot to risk. I tend to take threats seriously. So yes, I'm scared

Yeah, it makes me nervous. I don't like war games. Do I think they have the capability to attack the US in a large-scale or nuclear fashion? No. But that's not to say they won't attack South Korea. I'm more concerned for the countries surrounding them, but it does seem that the US gov/military is taking it very seriously, which comforts me.

Yes...I just don't like how they want to start a war, just for the sake of starting a war. How can any group of people be so evil?

Idon't know if I think they will come to the US or not, but I doubt all this talk is for nothing.

North Korea is in the business of professional blackmail... the problem for them is that people were no longer taking them seriously, so it was harder to extort large amounts of international aid and concessions. Plus they weren't being treated with as much deference as in the past. All that combined with a change of leadership, and things have gotten more heated lately.

Do I think we are going to war tomorrow? No. Do I think this man is a loose cannon that even China may not be able to control? YES. He is nuts, and he doesn't fear war or loss of life. It makes me incredibly nervous, because short of China cutting off their oil, which seems unlikely, I think it is only going to get more heated.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Dh isn't concerned. He said that we are technically still at war with them from a previous war. I'm horrible at history so maybe someone else knows which one? He also doesn't think they have the technology to pull it off. I always say don't underestimate the little dogs.

I dont tink anywhere other than Asia really has too much to worry about in regards to a nuclear attack. DH and I were discussing this this weekend and he was talking that they dont have the technology to physically launch a nuke as far as North America or even Europe.
I sort of think this is a "it bark is worse than its bite" kind of situation. They're trying to cause a ruckus to intimidate the rest of the world into acknowledging them as powerful.

I'm really not. The American and international reaction to any sort of attack would be so brutal and overpowering that I'm just not too worried. Also I live in Oregon, which isn't exactly a big target.

I'm not particularly worried about attacks on the UK or the US, I don't think he has the capability - but I'm very, very worried about South Korea and, in fact, the people in North Korea itself. Whenever these things get out of control, innocent people get hurt (often as a result of the retaliation mentioned previously) and it breaks my heart. So, yeah, I'm scared.
