My almost 2 year old never naps in a stroller or car seat and it really annoys me! She napped in her car seat when she was little (under 1 year) but now never does even if it’s a long ride at nap time. Stroller naps have never happened in her life! I’m so jealous when I see toddlers napping in strollers while their parents hang out! She sleeps well at home. Anyway, really just looking to see if we are the only ones. I feel like it’s probably too late to train her to sleep in a stroller.

I think it’s the kid! My third never did stroller naps past newborn days and very rarely sleeps in the car. My second falls asleep in the car constantly - I joke he sleeps like a man since dh can sleep anywhere too

@JJ2626: past 1, nope! And they were crappy car nappers. Stroller naps were okay until 1.5, but only when in motion.

Nope. 3 kids, no magical car naps or stroller naps past 1. And stroller and car napping only when in motion.

Both of mine: Never ever in the stroller, in the car they can fall asleep but it’s a crappy sleep and whenever we get home they wake up, can’t go back down and are incredibly irritable basically until they go to bed for the night.
Also negatory: friends who are like, just come over for dinner and we’ll put the baby in this pack n play in a dark room and then you guys can go home at 11pm drunk with your wailing, hungry, unbathed baby.

Dd almost never fell asleep in the car or stroller. She was a very good sleeper at home so I just assumed she was well rested. The only exception was if it was nap time and we were driving on a long trip then she would nap.
Ds often falls asleep in the car. Even when it’s not his nap time. He isn’t as good of a sleeper as dd at night so I figure that’s the difference...idk
So I had one that did and one that didn’t

My third babe is the opposite, takes beautiful naps on the car or stroller but never at home on her bed!

My 2 year old hasn’t slept in a car seat or stroller for almost a year. Our parents live 2 hours away. Even if we leave their house at (or after) bedtime, in pjs, with his pacifier (which he only gets at bedtime) he is awake the entire ride. We recently traveled internationally and he was awake from 3am-8pm. We tried for hours to get him to sleep on the plane to no avail while another 2 year old was passed out in front of us. He was perfectly happy, just can’t sleep unless it’s in a dark room in a crib.

I was at a coffee shop yesterday working and there was a toddler napping in the stroller while the mom read a book! Haha I was so jealous and pissed that I made this post! She doesn’t sleep on planes either but is always happy and usually naps well at home and sleeps amazing at night. I will just accept my fate I guess! @Kemma: It seems like maybe it’s one or the other!

@JJ2626: when she was about four months old she slept through a street march of twenty brass bands! Sleep has been quite the challenge for Eloise but she’s a third child so having a stroller sleeper does have its advantages...

Mine never napped in the car or stroller. Maybe 10 times over the 2.5 years that he napped. And he stopped napping at 2.5. And he’s a horrible night sleeper.
