Yes, I am thinking of doing this. We live in FL and it's always flip-flop weather here... I hate painting my own toes, so I get pedicures every few weeks. Right now, my toes & feet look like a pack of wild dogs got a hold of them. I'm considering putting my 8 wk old in the Bjorn and getting a pedicure so I can feel a little more normal!
My feet are really embarrassing right now!
Would you or have you done this or something similar?
Oh yeah, DH is gone thru the 31st so no one to watch LO...

As long as it was a well ventilated salon I think I would do it! Sit close to a door or window or ask for a small fan to blow dust and fumes away from LO.

I really want to try this! I am in desperate need of a pedi. But I would also worry about the fumes, since it's cold here so the windows are all closed. I say go for it as long as it's well ventilated.

I probably wouldn't, only because around here they are pretty fume-y and it's freezing so they can't open doors or windows. I'd also be really bummed if she melted down/blew out/wanted to eat/etc while I was in the middle of it..cause that would totally defeat my purpose of wanting to relax! haha!

@hilsy85: I'll let you know how it goes! She's pretty calm in the Bjorn, she'll just look around until she falls asleep on my chest, so hopefully all will go well! And we got a new hot pink bjorn from NBD that we're looking to try out;)

It sounds to me like you have a good plan. Go early, to avoid crowds/fumes. I say go for it!! Every mama deserves a nice pedicure

I guess it's just me but I so would not do that. They say not to even have pedi's during pregnancy because the fumes can be harmful! So I definitely would never bring my infant. MAYBE if it was a really upscale, well-ventilated salon. But yeah I'd just skip it. If I needed to I would ask my mom, DH or a friend to watch the babester for an hour

I don't think I would do it. I'm pretty sensitive to the fumes myself. I don't even want to think about what it's doing to LO.

I did! I went to an upscale, well ventilated salon. It was very light and airy. There were only a couple other ladies too. Just kept lo on my lap (she was just about four months at the time and slept trough it). Now at 11 months there's no way she would sit still for that amount of time

@Mrs. Pen: my doc said that the worry about pedis during pregnancy had to do with acupressure points cause contractions and that the polish/fumes were less of a worry than daily pollution exposure. She said as long as the fumes didn't irritate my morning sickness that there was no reason to limit pedicures.

I did multiple times until he was crawling. Now there's no way. He would never hang out that long. He always fell asleep during them. I think the massage chair was just enough vibration.

The place I go to is really spread out and all "zen" like so I never notice any fumes at all. I actually just went a few days ago (granted I'm a week away from my due date, but still). Maybe if you pick a place like that it should be fine.
