My brother did! SIL told him not to do on a holiday but he figured it was the only way he could surprise her. He was right!

my parents got married on v-day! cheesy, yes! but it was a courthouse type thing. So that made it a little special!

My ex proposed to his now wife on Valentine's day. I thought it was lame (and a little weird because it's my birthday and we dated for years). I know someone who had a wedding over Valentine's weekend because it was the anniversary of their first date. That was sweet, I thought.

DH ended up proposing on my bday (2/21) because I was so mad at him that he forgot valentine's day. I didn't find out until later, but he was planning on proposing when we moved in to the house we bought the next month.

@chopsuey: I did! Technically a 1am. The irony is DH hates valentine's so he knew I would never expect it. And he was right!

We got engaged on V-day. It was a spur of the moment thing too. DH was going to propose on my birthday but knew I was getting ansty so decided to bring it forward. We don't even celebrate Valentines! Haha

Got up the next morning to find a text from another couple friend that they had got engaged the night before too. Ooops

@Mrs. Sketchbook: big Brother got married on Valentines too. Said it would be easier to remember his anniversary. Cue the eye rolling.

Yep I know some think it's cheesy, but I like that it makes valentine's more meaningful to us, more worth actually celebrating.

I don't know anyone, and we got engaged on New Year's Day.

My parents! My dad hid the ring in the bouquet of roses.

Surprisingly, I don't know anyone who got engaged or married on V-Day.

my FIL and SMIL did! She was a little upset though because I think one of her parents passed away on v-day and it didn't have great memories for her... oops! They laugh about it now, and certainly made a new happy memory.

We got engaged on Valentine's Day, 2013. I kind of knew it was coming since we had been looking at and talking about rings. I came into the house where we now live together (it was his at the time), and it was dark except for candles lit, and he had romantic music playing. He made me a homemade lasagna, and then during the gift exchange he gave me a ring pop. It took him a while, but he eventually got down on one knee and pulled the real ring out of his shirt pocket.

Don't know anyone who was engaged or married. I believe my hubby did it on Xmas eve tho.

I didn't! We got engaged 4 days later on our dating-aversary (which is now also our wedding anniversary).
