When I went to pick up my pain meds after my c-section all of the ladies stared at me whispering and then finally one comes over and said they couldn't fill the prescription because it wasn't safe to take during pregnancy.

@stargal: Ugh! Offered a seat on the train (so sweet) because they thought I was preg...at 5 mo PP. UGH.

@oliviaoblivia: i had a similar experience. And my pain meds were not even a prescription. I was buying advil for my c-section pain. The cashier kept looking at me funny and finally asked if my doctor said it was okay to take this.

@oliviaoblivia: OMG!
Chloe told me it looks like there's still a baby in my belly. I'm 4 days PP and she's two, so...

I was asked several times, pretty upsetting. I started wearing larger non maternity shirts that made me look fat, not pregnant. Better, but not a great alternative.

About two weeks after having my daughter I was at a shower and a women came over and said " oh you too! It's like a baby boom in this city, when are you due? " my reply " see the car seat over there but seriously I never wore that dress again.

I went to the gas station for pop and someone asked me how far along I was. I was six months postpartum but wearing a maternity skirt. That's the last time I wore that skirt.

I was 5 days PP walking around and a priest asked when I was gonna have the baby. I explained that I just had her, actually

I was holding my daughter who was 7 weeks old at the time and a girl I knew from high school said "OMG are you having another one?!". Um, no, just pushed this one out but thanks.

Yep. I was shopping for clothes for the new baby and someone asked me when O was due. I said, "I just had my baby", even through I was 3 or 4 weeks postpartum.

A neighbour came over to talk to my husband when I was 5 days pp and when I answered the door she said "I was about to ask your husband if you already had the baby, but I see that you haven't!"

No, but I got mistaken for pregnant TWICE before I ever got pregnant, so...

@night cheese: same here. I never ask people if they are pregnant. So rude.

I was at a winery in Napa, waiting for the restroom and the lady in front of me said I could go because she "remembered those days of constant bathroom breaks". I laughed and said thanks but I already had my baby 10 months ago (and she was with us in the winery). So embarrassing but I took it that she had just been drinking too much.
Not so lucky the second time when in the same dress (not maternity, not big, from Bananna Republic!) and women in the elevator asked my husband and I when we were due with our second since he was holding our 11 month old daughter. I just mumbled something and we got off the elevator.
Not sure why that dress causes these comments, but it's not stopping me from wearing it since it's the only fancy dress I feel good in and that fits!

At 6 weeks pp, I bought a new casual dress to wear since a lot of my clothes don't fit right now. I actually weigh less than I did before I got pregnant, but my body is different. The dress made me feel good about myself and I was really happy in it. I went to get a pedicure for my baby shower that's tomorrow. (My baby is a preemie in the NICU, so our shower is after he was born.) The lady doing the pedicure looked up at me and asked me if I was pregnant. It made me feel so bad! I guess I didn't look as good in that dress as I thought I did.

Ugh, yes. I used to go to the post office at least once a week so they were aware of my pregnancy, and PP my mail guy commented "oh you must be due soon!". I can't remember exactly when PP that gem happened, as I'm trying to block it from memory. Also, I haven't been back to that post office since.

At 10 days pp I went to buy a nursing bra and was asked how far along I was. I was like she's over there. Just don't ask people!

I feel like people in general are sooo clueless about what a postpartum body looks like. Thats why I cheered for princess kate when she came out for pictures right after delivering George.

Got asked 8 months pp. also twice before I ever was pregnant haha. Never gets easier to handle.

Yes, two weeks ago at almost 5 months PP. The lady was older and obviously didn't have a filter. She asked if the next one was going to be a boy and I said "uh, I don't know?" Then she said "You don't know?!" in a very surprised tone. It was only then that I realized what she meant and got super flustered.

We were at the doctor's office for an appt 3 days pp (K was with us in the car seat) and a lady looked at my belly and asked if we were having another one already and then realised how stupid her comment was as I said no. My fiance joked to her that K was his baby with another woman lol. Hopefully she will think twice before she talks next time!

So rude. LO was born at the beginning of August, just as the fall inventory came in. I popped in to Motherhood about 3 days pp to purchase a nursing bra, which of course are way in the back of the store. A sales person stopped me on the way in, and advised the the summer sale stuff was up front, but if I was looking for stuff for when the weather got cooler, there was a small section 'over there'.

Yep - when Jack was in the NICU for a week following his birth I went to visit him probably about 5 days PP and as I was getting in the elevator in the hospital some guy went "congrats! good luck!" like i was going in to give birth. DH and i just laughed! I did look about 6 months pregnant for a week following birth though!

We were leaving the hospital after our DD was born and a guy riding in the elevator asked me when I was due. Hello, newborn baby in the carseat next to you!! His wife looked at him like he was nuts.
