I have one. DH got it for me for Christmas 2 years ago. I liked it so much and talked about it so much that my mom and aunt got one. I don't use it as much as I did since I got an iPad, but I still really like it and keep it around.

We have one. We use it as our white noise machine in LO's room. We prefer the iPad.

I have a Kindle Fire HD...I really like it, and use it a lot for reading and stuff...I also love amazon, so it the Kindle was a top contender when it came down to tablet shopping. I do have to say, I have never used the ipad, so I don't really have any other tablet to compare the Kindle to.

I got one free from optimum. I guess cuz I'm too used to the iPad, but I don't really like the kindle. For the price of the kindle, I would rather get the galaxy tab.
Kindle doesn't have app icons like iPad. Not easy to maneuver, unless I just haven't figured it out. I'm sure it's fine for simple things like just reading books....I don't find it user friendly.

DH won one from our dentist. I like it.... but I really just use it for facebook, hellobee, aol, and some games when DH is on the computer. DH is usually against i things, he prefers our android phone over the iphone. But I think he did mention that the ipad is one thing that was done better then the kindle.

My dad gave me his when he got a free Ipad.
DS uses it more than me, lol. It's got a ton of games on there for him. It's good for when we need to be somewhere that he needs to be calm and still, though, lol.
I like to read books on paper, so it's no use to me in that aspect.
At least it was free for us, lol

Do yourself a favour and get a regular tablet instead of a "colour e-reader"... which is just an overpriced, underpowered tablet. You will get more bang for your buck if you get a Samsung Galaxy tab, Google Nexus or something similar rather than a Kindle Fire.
If you want to play games and surf Facebook, get a tablet. but if you want to primarily read on this device, get an e-ink device, like the Kindle Paperwhite. MUCH MUCH better for reading.
I have a Galaxy Tab (7" one) for playing Candy Crush and watching YouTube videos and I have a Paperwhite for when I want to sit and read a book for hours without hurting my eyes. If you are not much of a reader (only read occasionally/not for long hours) the Galaxy Tab would likely suit you well on it's own, as you can download the Kindle/Nook/Kobo apps and read off it.

I researched the kindle fire extensively and ended up going with the Google Nexus 7. I couldn't be happier with it! My conclusion was that the kindle fire was more of an amazon shopping device than a functional tablet in some ways, and the Nexus 7 allows me to do everything the fire does and then some. The only positive i found with the fire was access to Amazon videos, but since i don't have Amazon prime anyway, that would've cost me extra. I use google play, which has an amazing selection of tv shows and movies, and it is free to use.
I use my nexus for pretty much everything except word processing documents, and it has tons of apps. i also love reading and watching shows on it.

I have one. I also have an iPad. I really dislike my Kindle Fire. Mainly because it doesn't work like an iPad. Sorry!

My mom has one and LOOOOOVES it. She hasn't ever used an iPad so she doesn't have something to compare it to, but for the price I think she likes it a lot.
