Someone on my local FB sale site is selling a Shermag glider/ottoman for $40. I think I am going to get it but wanted to hear what you guys thought about it first!

I do. Not exactly sure which model I have, but I've been happy with it. Can't say it's the best quality, but definitely comfortable. Just one thing to watch out for -- if I sit on the very front edge of mine, it has a tendency to tip forward behind me. But for $40, that's a risk I'd be willing to take;)

I have them.
My number one peeve about it was putting it together. I put all of our nursery furniture/baby gear together, and this (specifically the ottoman, actually) was the only one that made me want to cry. Did cry, actually. But I assume since you'd be buying it used that this won't be an issue at all.
Overall we like it. Sometimes it creaks a little when we're rocking, and I wish the seat was wider. Also, the ottoman is a little low for the chair, I think. And I'd suggest getting a small pillow for your lower back....not much support there. Overall I thought it was decent value for the price.
If I could do it again I would have invested in one of the big comfy swiveling arm chair ones, but the Shermag has served us well. $40 is a really really great deal.

@lovehoneybee: yes it's already together! Thanks for the input.
@SeptMomma12: ha oh yeah we are on a tight budget so I will stick with a used one for $40

@Bao: compared to what you can get from Wal-mart or Target, it's really nice. I bought one for my little sister as a baby shower gift. I wish I could have one too, but they won't ship up here.
ETA: I just wanted to clarify, because it seems like I'm making it sound like it isn't nice. It is a great glider, and I'm jealous of your find! My walmart one is too short in the back (and I'm short) and the cushions aren't as cushy as the Shermag.

We have one, and I'm pretty happy with it. It was comfy enough to pass out in for some of those late night feedings. Ours creaks a little, and that seemed to be a common complaint in the reviews I read, but it's never really bothered me.
