We probably won't see our families for Thanksgiving or Christmas because we traveled so much this summer. But Thanksgiving and Christmas weren't really big holidays for my family anyway. Since I moved to New York, she usually goes to Korea for the holidays to visit her family.
I think starting from next year we'll visit my family over Christmas, but most years it's just our little family unit for Thanksgiving and Christmas because our families are so far away.

It is always just us for Thanksgiving and my parents usually visit for Christmas. I think we'll start doing trips for Christmas next year with the kids. DH wants to do Costa Rica with them.

What part? We went to Manuel Antonio where there are more monkeys than people. They were everywhere and it was awesome!

We'll see family for Thanksgiving, but we often take trips/vacations just ourselves to somewhere exotic over Christmas/New Years. One year we went to India, one year to Prague and this year we're going to Patagonia. If/when we have a LO I think we may try to keep up the "tradition" of doing a family trip (just us and LO) to somewhere interesting every few years over the holidays, as it is somewhat easier to get time off work/school over the holidays and can be a great time to travel to many places that are farther afield. Perhaps it hurts family's feelings but honestly, life is too short, and we LOVE to travel.

We were planning on it because we haven't been to see my family for Christmas together since we got married. My DH used to work every holiday and now he gets a week off. However, we need to be close to home for monitoring appointments for our FET this year. I definitely feel a bit of guilt. My dad is going to come visit us instead. I am happy about that.

We will see dh's side but not mine. His grandmother is only 1.5 hours away so it's easier to do thanksgiving there, with the baby. And we switch off Christmas- my family is a 4 hour drive, his is cross country, and it will be easier to fly with a five month old than 17 month ok'd next year. I'm sad my family is missing C's first holidays but also I'm overwhelmed just thinking about getting there for an extra weekend.

We always miss either Thanksgiving or Christmas. We only chose one holiday to travel. We always miss the other holidays like Easter.

We'll see family for Christmas, but be on our own for thanksgiving, I think. It's always tough with my schedule to get away because I always have to work over the holidays.

not seeing any family for Christmas this year. we are really excited about this - we've had visitor after visitor since our lo was born in june and am so glad to get some breathing room.

We will see my family for Christmas and Thanksgiving, but not DH's until New Year's. MIL is driving up here this year, which saves us the 7 hour trip. We will have Christmas eve to ourself though, which I am excited about!

Same here, we live so far from everyone that we don't usually see people for the holidays. Although, my inlaws have come for new years the past 2 years because DS's birthday is just a few days before, so we've celebrated his birthday and new years with them. This year we won't see anyone since baby2 is due just before Christmas and I have said no to any holiday visits.

Usually not since we live abroad but two years ago my mom came to stay with us over the Christmas holidays since that was when LO was born. She's coming this year to since this baby is due in December too.

Well, at least one of us doesn't see our parents on every single holiday, so it's something we're just used to, with our families being on different continents.
For me, though, the holidays are not about THE DAY, they're more about tradition and spending time, so we make up for it in other ways.

We live near my family, so Christmas is always with them however we live 1000 miles from DH's family so we've never celebrated christmas with them.

We were hoping to go see my family for Christmas (they live overseas) but we just decided to save the money instead. So it will be us and DH's family together for Christmas this year, again. I love them, but I really miss my family. We spent some of the summer with my family so I can't be mad.

We see DH's family almost every holiday, since they live nearby. My family lives 12 hours away, so every other year we go there for Christmas.

I would love to stay home and just be with my family and do nothing =)
However, we always go to DH side for Thanksgiving and mine for Christmas
