I take zyrtec every night. I find I'm better off if I take it even when I don't think I need it. If I stop, BAM.

for immediate relief, I find nose sprays work better. They get right to the source of the problem.

I take Claritin occasionally, it does the job. I have tried and disliked Zyrtec and Allegra in the past.

I take Allegra. Zyrtec makes me drowsy. I also use a nasal spray (Nasonex).

Claritin does take about 3 days to build up in your system so its not great for "immediate relief".

I take Zyrtec every night at bedtime!

Not now, but when my post nasal drip gets bad I'll take Claritin-D or Mucinex-D. The decongestant is what keeps me awake during the day. If I take the regular stuff, I'll be so drowsy. (The decongestant (pseudoephedrine) is like speed... or similar to caffeine. (I know this is not pharmacologically correct. Checking on it...) People buy meds with the pseudoephedrine in it to make drugs (meth) and that's why you need an ID to get it and can only get one pack at a time. That's why it's regulated.) Ok, I'm not a doctor and it appears I'm missing something in my explanation.

My dr said my post nasal drip is caused by acid reflux so I'm suppose to take omeprezole or prevacid. I don't take it as I should.

Nasal spray, Claritin D every other day works for me. My husband calls Allegra D "Allegra Pee."

I take Zyretec when I'm really bad otherwise I take Actifed at the recommendation of my doc. I have horrible allergies and have to switch it up every few years due to the medicine growing ineffective! I also love Aleve Cold & Sinus D when I'm feeling congested!
