I randomly woke up and couldn't fall back asleep... reading this all now. I feel so bad for the people in the Boston area with all of this violence. I hope they catch the other suspect.

I am watching the news with LO at 4am. Not usually up this early though.@Pepper: Me, too. It's awful!
pomelo / 5321 posts
I'm listening to a live stream on myfoxboston.com. I hope they catch the second suspect soon. I can't imagine living in that area and going through this.
Thinking of all of the Boston bees!

I'm glued to the news this morning... scary stuff. I hope they find the second suspect soon.
bananas / 9628 posts
Omg, this is terrifying! I'm 45 minutes away, so I'm not worried for myself, but if have family & friends in the areas on lockdown. Fb is full of people hearing gunshots & explosions.
pomegranate / 3729 posts
@mrs. bird: likewise! I am far enough away, but it's pretty horrifying what is happening. I really hope they catch this second suspect so that this fear can subside a little.
bananas / 9628 posts
@bpcmarj: I think some of the fear will subside with his capture, but the devices they could have left around will still leave people feeling unsafe. I'm glad they recovered another pressure cooker before it hurt anyone else. My heart hurts for the families of the officer who died and the other officer hurt. I can't imagine what the carjacking victim who was freed must be feeling after spending a half hour in the car with them!

Thinking of all of you ladies in Boston and your families this morning. Hope all of you are safe and this all end quickly so you can stop living with this hanging over your heads. I would be so nervous, so I'm just nervous for you all.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@rachiecakes - I think you live pretty close to that area- really hope you and the family are safe at home and not too close to the action.

My SIL has been at a conference in Boston all week. I hope she gets to go home, soon, since all transportation is going on lock down.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
Law Enforcement has done an outstanding job getting these guys. I hope they get the 2nd suspect soon.
@mrs. bird: oh my, that would be the worst! Suspects dead and another bomb planted somewhere.
nectarine / 2771 posts
This is insane. I heard about the MIT shooting last night before going to bed and my DH said he read that the perpetrators might be the bombing suspects. I said what, no way they wouldn't put themselves out there like that! And then I wake up to this news!!
Those in Boston, stay safe. Thinking of all you guys!

Its crazy people posting on facebook about hearing explosions and stuff.

Stunned at what's happening over there... Boston folks, please stay safe! The police and FBI are doing a brilliant job.

Insanity.
Just saw video from the shootout last night, hearing all the shots, yikes.
2nd guy's fate is sealed, just gotta find him if they haven't already.

@Beebug: That's sort of what scares me-- he knows there is no way out alive, I'm afraid of what he is doing right now while he hides.
I'm impressed with the entire city's response to all of this this week-- hospitals knew exactly what to do on Monday, and now they managed to shut down the city really fast to keep as many people safe as possible.
@Dandelion: I hope your SIL gets home soon. I'm sure this wasn't a terribly productive conference for her. Was she staying downtown? All the conference hotels are right there in Back Bay (which is good news today, as it's plenty far from Watertown).

This has been too surreal. We were seeing an actor friend in a play last night on the street where the second shooting went down in Watertown last night, just hours before it happened. This feels like a bad horror movie. Stay safe, fellow Boston bees.

@maybebaby: It's a crazy movie! I can't believe everything that's happening all at once! It's crazy!

This is such a dark week for our whole country, but I have so say this article brought a smile to mine and DH's faces last night amidst all this chaos. http://www.theonion.com/articles/jesus-this-week,32105/

I actually heard about what is going on from @winniebee: she and her family are safe but on lock down. I'm so scared for them and this is such a terrifying situation. Pardon my French, but I really hope they catch this SOB...

@Mrs. Pen: Oh my goodness, thank goodness she's safe! I agree. This guy needs to be catch asap....and punished!

I'm so confused, I thought they said they were from
Chechnya & had been here two years at most, but now people are saying they went to middle school & high school here. Were they trained in this here?!?
nectarine / 2177 posts
@mrs. bird: I have been really frustrated with the coverage. Nothing should be shared that isn't fact-checked. It is too confusing and upsetting.
bananas / 9628 posts
@maybebaby: they interviewed a girl that was saying she went to school with the one that is still at large & said she knew his sister too. She was showing his hs yearbook photo on her instagram feed.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@mrs. bird: @maybebaby: I agree-- it's like the Adam Lanza thing where they identified his brother, had wrong info about his mom... I mean we all want info, but rumors are for randoms on Twitter, not CNN.

Sending love to all you Boston bees! Stay safe. I pray this is over for you soon.

@Foodnerd81: She's in Cambridge, I guess...she's bunkered in her hotel room, and is worried about when she's going to be able to go home. But, she's safe at least!

@maybebaby: That article made me laugh...it's so right, though! Thanks for sharing that!
nectarine / 2177 posts
@Dandelion: it is so terrible, but it really gave us a much needed laugh too--glad it could bring a smile to your face.

I was pretty shocked when I heard the headlines on the radio when my alarm went off this morning.
Glued to the live coverage now.

@hergreenapples: Yeah my dad texted me at 6 am this morning and I've been watching ever since.

Whoa I'm just waking up to what's going on!!! Hope all the Boston ladies are okay!!!!

@mrs. bird: I'm not sure we can attribute a motive. It seems more like 2 boys that snapped than trained terrorists. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
watermelon / 14206 posts
My SIL managed to get a ride with someone that lives near her to go home. She went to Boston by train, and was supposed to leave this morning. Obviously, she couldn't go home that way, but we're really thankful for the other lady that is helping her.
